Overview:
Summary
The IT Portfolio Manager will be the primary point of contact within the IT department to own, manage, maintain, and report on a wide range of projects related to our internal business applications, tools and technologies.

This position will be the trusted ConvergeOne IT customer interface and work directly with our architect, consulting, and development teams in delivering successful engagements.

In this role the IT Portfolio Manager will apply a thorough understanding of the SDLC Life-cycle, Agile and Waterfall methodologies to create and maintain a detailed road-map for their product(s) and applications to achieve our business objectives. This role will also work with vendors to incorporate new technologies available and manage the backlog of feature development of the Scrum teams.

In addition to the intake, planning and execution they will lead the team for a given application during a development cycle, identifying, and engaging subject matter experts as necessary. The IT Portfolio Manager should have the ability to plan and manage the development project from start to finish and ensure that the result meets the customer needs. Ultimately, the IT Portfolio Manager will be detailed-oriented and have excellent organizational, leadership, and communication skills in order to manage the relationship with the business and the all stakeholders.

Responsibilities:
Essential Functions
  • Conducts monthly, quarterly, and annual stakeholder meetings to ensure business priorities road-map is current and approved
  • Ensures that the product backlog list is prioritized, clear, transparent, and visible both within IT and with stakeholders (including the negotiation of priorities across business units)
  • Develops, manages, and maintains a clear vision and road-map of the assigned internal Business portfolio
  • Conducts internal IT status review meetings to ensure IT resources and IT leadership are aligned and aware in order to negotiate resource availability and allocation
  • Manages and shares the risks, issues, assumptions, dependencies with the stakeholders including mitigation planning
  • Reviews updates of products to determine features that are relevant to communicate
  • Builds, develops, and grows business relationships vital to the success of the Product Team
  • Works with vendors to understand upcoming releases and how C1 can take advantage of them in our business
  • Communicate updates and announce releases to users, stakeholders, and internal IT
  • Works with the business process owners and IT cross-functional teams to manage, group, sequence, and prioritize work in the product backlog
  • Coordinates third parties/vendors for the flawless execution of projects
  • Assists in the definition of project scope and objectives, involving all relevant stakeholders and ensuring technical feasibility as well as develops a detailed project plan to monitor and track progress
  • Ensures all projects are delivered on-time, within scope and within budget
  • Manages changes to the project scope, project schedule and project costs using appropriate verification techniques while developing spreadsheets, diagrams and process maps to document needs
  • Measures project performance using sanctioned tools and techniques
  • Reports and escalates to Product team and IT management as needed
Qualifications:

Required Qualifications

  • 5-10 years previous working experience as a Technical Project Manager
  • 3 years previous working experience as a Product Owner within a Product Team
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent experience in IT
  • In-depth knowledge of Agile and Waterfall process and principles
  • Experience working and communicating with Executive level management
  • Experience creating and maintaining project plans, issue logs, risk register, and status reports
  • Demonstrated strong performance in prior roles, with increasing levels of responsibility and independence
  • Ability and willingness to adapt to change and work in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong track record of delivering complex solutions with lots of cross team dependencies
  • Strong sense of accountability and ownership; understand your role and accept individual responsibility for seeing a task through to its completion (end-to-end), understand when and how to escalate, take appropriate risk (avoid unnecessary risk) and understand impact of decisions


Desired/Preferred Qualifications

  • Industry certifications for Project Management, PMP or PgMP preferred (PMI or equivalent)
  • Industry certifications for Product Owner preferred
  • Ability to accept and act on leadership feedback required
  • Experience with Microsoft Project, SharePoint and or SmartSheets
  • Experience with Webex and MS Teams required
  • Experience working directly in IT

Pay Range
$95,000 - $125,000
Base pay ranges are estimated. Actual base pay will be based on education, experience, location, certifications, skill set, and any other relevant factors. Incentive/variable pay opportunities are in addition to base pay.
