Job Description

Overview

To assist in organizing, planning, and delivering business outcomes of the product and portfolio/optimization Services team through product lifecycle management. Directly supervise, support, guide and lead a product management/business optimization team that drives business demand intake, backlogs, and the creation and maintenance of portfolio, product, and solution roadmaps. Co-manage the workload of the team by creating team schedules and delegating assignments and tasks. Assess work performance and identify areas of improvement. Perform regular employee communication touchpoints and feedback discussions. Assist in creating/monitoring employee growth and development plans. Train and onboard new hires. Assist in setting individual and team goals that align with Navy Federal’s strategies and vision. Foster an environment that promotes positive team and employee engagement. Ensure that business goals, deadlines and performance standards are met.

Drive execution for the full lifecycle project implementation through agile delivery methods across the project portfolio. Partner with business, and technology teams on planning, and execution of activities across product domains with risk/control and process redesign mindsets. Considered a key contributor on complex technology and process redesign initiatives.

Responsibilities

  • Deliver aspects of the innovation process from ideation to implementation across product, technology, and business process domains
  • Plan, manage, and provide overall leadership on highly visible projects and initiatives
  • Support development of system and business process analyses, feasibility studies, pilots, and implementation of applications and systems
  • Support planning and execution of the process and activities required for product operating model
  • Support the design, analysis, development, testing, implementation, and maintenance of new or enhanced technology infrastructure and software that affect member services and operational functions
  • Ensure new designs, changes, or enhancements to systems meet user requirement needs and ensure adherence to industry, regulatory, department, and enterprise standards
  • Provide technical knowledge in current and emerging technologies, trends, and practices
  • Propose new projects, configuration, systems architecture, systems integration, enhancements, outages, changes, and process improvements
  • Assist in development, and retention for a high performing team of product managers and business analysts, ensuring roles and career trajectories are well-defined and evolve as the organization transitions
  • Manage partnerships and collaboration with stakeholders to identify critical challenges, devise solutions, and facilitate the attainment of business objectives
  • Evaluate the effectiveness of regulatory and industry practices, products, technologies, and vendor offerings
  • Support technology strategy, establish priorities, and set goals for medium-to-large technology and process redesign projects that align with department/organizational objectives
  • Perform other duties as assigned
  • Collaborate with business and technology stakeholders and partners to communicate vision, direction, and strategic objectives
  • Perform supervisory/managerial responsibilities
  • Manage business relationships, demand/resource planning, and prioritization of resources and initiatives
  • Analyze business needs and risks to develop and implement solutions that leverage modern, cloud systems and functionality.
  • Effectively communicate with staff, senior management, internal technology teams, and vendors/system providers regarding system implementations, enhancements, process redesign, and technology programs
  • Empower team members by giving clear areas of ownership that align with product and portfolio objectives and business outcomes

Qualifications

  • Significant organizational, research, analytical, problem-solving, planning and time management skills
  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field
  • Experience in hiring, training, leading, and mentoring individual contributors
  • Experience managing cross-functional, multi-dimensional teams and projects of high complexity
  • Advanced skill effectively communicate technical and non-technical issues and information clearly and concisely to all levels of management and team members
  • Effective skill exercising initiative and using good judgment to make sound decisions
  • Significant skill interacting with staff, management, and vendors, with diplomacy and thoughtfulness
  • Significant skill developing and implementing programs in a leadership role
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills
  • Experience in managing product vision, backlog, and road mapping to build and launch technology and process redesign
  • Experience in Risk, and/or Auditing acumen, approaches, and risk mitigation
  • Significant skill identifying and analyzing business requirements and recommending solutions
  • Experience in researching, compiling, and documenting data, business processes, and workflow
  • Experience in applications and system/user performance testing
  • Significant experience working on multiple priorities and driving solutions in a fast-paced working environment

Desired Qualifications

  • Knowledge of Navy Federal functions, culture, operations, systems, and organizational objectives
  • CPA, PMP, CISA or related certifications Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field

Hours: Monday - Friday, 8:00AM - 4:30PM

Navy Federal is now hybrid! Our standard enterprise requirement for a hybrid schedule is to report onsite 4-16 days each month.
