Job Description

Parexel has an exciting opportunity for an Executive Director, Portfolio Management to join our global Operational Excellence & Delivery team supporting the OED Enterprise Program Management Office. The primary role of the Executive Director of Portfolio Management is to support the OED Enterprise Program Management Office (EPMO) to govern and report progress on the portfolio of internal investments, including transformational and corporate initiatives. This role will lead a combined PMO construct and unified governance model. The EDPM proactively collaborates with Parexel internal project teams and others involved in the definition and delivery of the initiatives.

Responsibilities:

  • Project approval governance (inclusive of technology lifecycle gates);
  • Resource planning including operational impact assessment; ensuring that projects are progressing according to plan/commitments
  • Production of key progress reports
  • Management of communication between internal stakeholders
  • Business case development oversight
  • Tracking and assimilation of savings/benefit realization and KPI data
  • Preparation and presentation of materials for internal meetings
  • Portfolio prioritization
  • Portfolio KPI management; scorecard management; supporting financial management and reconciliation

Experience required

  • Advanced knowledge of the Microsoft Office software packages such as Teams, Excel, MS Project, Visio, PowerPoint, SharePoint.
  • Experience with organizational change management.
  • Aptitude to interface with all levels of staff, including top management.
  • Familiarity with project management methodology ideally in combination with a background in a functional business area such as human resources, finance, accounting, marketing / sales or clinical studies.
  • Demonstrated strong organizational skills and ability to take structured approach to varied work assignments.
  • Advanced problem-solving skills and ability to summarize complex situations into key points.
  • Highly motivated, self-starting, with strong results orientation.
  • Strong team leader who is dedicated to making cross-functional, culturally diverse and geographically distributed teams successful.
  • Experience running an IT PMO would be beneficial
  • Excellent program/project management and control skills.
  • Strong influencing skills and ability to engage and lead teams.
  • Strong verbal & written communication, interpersonal, and negotiation skills (mainly internally and often at higher levels).
  • Advanced proficiency in corporate finance
  • Line management experience is required
  • Proven relevant experience with managing large, complex portfolio programs in healthcare, consultancy, or contract research organization.
  • Strong meeting facilitation and presentation skills.

Education

  • Bachelor’s degree in a science-related field, management or business administration, with an advanced technical degree or MBA desirable.
