Independent advice and intellectual rigor are hallmarks of the firm’s commitment to client success across its advisory services.

Houlihan Lokey is the No. 1 investment bank for global M&A transactions under $1 billion, the No. 1 M&A advisor for the past eight consecutive years in the U.S., the No. 1 global restructuring advisor for the past nine consecutive years, and the No. 1 global M&A fairness opinion advisor over the past 25 years, all based on number of transactions and according to data provided by Refinitiv.

Corporate Finance

Houlihan Lokey has extensive expertise in mergers, acquisitions, divestitures, activist shareholder and takeover defense, capital raising, and other related advisory services for a broad range of U.S. and international clients. Our experience in M&A has earned us consistent recognition throughout the industry. In 2022, we were ranked the No. 1 M&A advisor for all U.S. transactions and completed more equity private placements than any other firm.

Capital Markets

Our Capital Markets Group provides capital-raising services for a wide variety of clients, from large, publicly held, multinational corporations to privately held companies either sponsor-backed or founded and run by entrepreneurs. In partnership with our Industry Coverage teams and Financial Sponsors Group, we combine superior sector knowledge and relationships with significant expertise in structuring and syndicating financings.

We are one of the largest and most active private capital markets teams on Wall Street, with approximately 90 dedicated finance professionals across 11 offices in 5 countries.

We approach each transaction with the goal of creating a solution that enables our clients to achieve their strategic objectives with the best terms available in the market. Houlihan Lokey has acted as a placement agent, an underwriter, or a strategic advisor for a wide variety of financings, including private issuances of leveraged loans, mezzanine debt, and minority equity as well as public offerings of common stock, equity-linked securities, and high-yield bonds. In a capital markets environment that is rapidly changing and increasingly complex, it is critical to have a trusted investment bank with the experience and proven ability to deliver a tailored financing solution—not just capital.

Over the past two fiscal years, we raised approximately $26 billion of capital across approximately 250 transactions for private equity and corporate clients worldwide. Given our large volume of financing transactions, we believe that we have an unparalleled ability to fully understand and adapt to the ever-changing capital markets to achieve optimal outcomes for our clients.

Our Equity Private Placements team within the Capital Markets Group originates, structures, and executes private financings on behalf of the firm’s corporate and financial sponsor clients across numerous industries. Members of the Equity Private Placements team work closely with a range of sponsor-backed, family-owned, public, and privately-owned clients, as well as with Houlihan Lokey’s industry coverage, M&A, and financial restructuring teams.

The team executes on a variety of private financing transactions, such as growth equity, structured equity, Private Investments in Public Equities (PIPEs), co-invest equity and growth / venture debt placements for a variety of situations, including growth capital, acquisition financings, refinancings, dividend recapitalizations, leveraged buyouts (LBOs) and special situations.

The Equity Private Placements team is seeking to recruit an Analyst to join the team in New York or Dallas. The Analyst will be responsible for supporting Associates and senior bankers on the day-to-day aspects of transaction and marketing efforts, and conducting broader administrative tasks required to facilitate the efficient running of the team.
