Private Equity Investment Associate

Global Asset Management firm in search of a Private Equity Analyst for a newly formed team:

• Experience in climate solutions, power & energy, software or tech-enabled services a requirement.
• Work experience is pre-MBA, with 2-4 years of experience in investment banking or as an associate or analyst at a private equity or growth equity firm.

The client believes the Climate Solutions investment opportunity is comparable to the disruption and wealth creation of the digital revolution which gave rise to rapidly dominant new businesses, created new markets and product categories, and drove operational changes in virtually every area. However, the decarbonization transition will occur on a more compressed and critical timeframe given the urgent need to address climate change and accelerating warming trends. As one of the world’s leading alternative asset managers with a unique international history and workforce, the client has advantages of scale and access in identifying, investing in, and adding value to the most promising Climate Solutions investment opportunities.

The client targets businesses at the growth-stage “inflection point” where they have matured past the binary risks facing new ventures, and, instead, must successfully manage and minimize the execution risks associated with rapid expansion. The client will only invest in businesses with a clear and demonstrable decarbonization and climate impact, concentrating in four key sectors: (i) carbon management, (ii) transportation, (iii) the built environment, and (iv) food & agriculture.

Associate / Senior Associate

• The Associate or Senior Associate, depending on experience and tenure, will be expected to lead different workstreams from running financial models, to conducting due diligence, to sourcing new deals, to researching thematic investment sectors, to monitoring performance of existing investments, to coordinating value-add services, to planning for exit options.

• Associates may also assist in fundraising activities and strategic work for the client or the Climate Solutions business.

• At the Senior Associate level, the individual should have the maturity and presence to be capable of working with senior executive teams at new investments or portfolio companies and to coordinating across investment banking, legal, managing consulting, and accounting advisors.

• Education should be from a recognized top tier college/university with a record of achievement in academics and extracurricular activities.

• Experience in climate solutions, software or tech-enabled services a requirement.

• Work experience is pre-MBA, with 2-4 years of experience in investment banking or as an associate or analyst at a private equity or growth equity firm.
