Job Description

Marsh’s Private Equity and M&A Services (PEMA) practice is a dedicated global team focused on providing insurance, risk management, due diligence, and post-acquisition services to private equity firms, alternative investment firms, infrastructure funds, strategic investors, other financial sponsors, and their related investments.

Responsible for driving the strategic growth and execution of our NA Private Equity H&B business. The intent is to cultivate a competitive edge in our go to market strategy and sales activities, while liaising with our Mercer and MMA H&B resources, to drive increased market share, revenue, and brand awareness within Private Equity.

The role will report directly to the NA PEMA Practice Leader, collaborating on all strategic initiatives with NA leadership team.

PEMA Practice is seeking candidates for the following position based in our New York office:

What can you expect?

  • Identify gaps in the market, specific client needs, and innovative client initiatives that can differentiate PEMA in the market.
  • Partner with the NA Leader to build an annual sales plan for the region to meet assigned goals and contribute to achieving NA plan
  • Propose long and short-term strategic goals for the future of the PEMA H&B business (data/ digital, structural, etc)
  • Review and use data to help identify the top new business sales opportunities and partner with regional sellers to build pursuit plan for each
  • Responsibilities include expanding opportunities with clients and prospects through integrated growth initiatives that leverage our (Mercer/ MMA) immense expertise and capabilities across geographies, industry segments and solutions, while working with regional leaders, sales professionals, and others within the practice to provide clarity on goals, direct strategy, facilitate the sharing of best practices and ensure consistency of execution.
  • Identify and disseminate best practices in line with NA strategy, sharing learnings with colleagues across NA
  • Track, analyze, and monitor regional sales data (e.g., pipeline, KPIs, training, follow-ups, etc.) across all segments. Present sales metrics to NA leadership at established cadence and in established format

We will count on you to:

  • Build a community within MMA and Mercer to execute on goals and opportunities
  • Develop and evolve H&B value proposition, at the portco and fund levels. Champion rollout of consistent and relevant value proposition for H&B services in the pursuit of new business
  • Lead/ coordinate new business sales pursuits for opportunities in NA as outlined in the go to market strategy.
  • Participate in planning for NA sales/ staff meetings and support NA team strategy.
  • Develop and execute on the go to market strategy around PE including market opportunity analysis
  • Liaise w/ Mercer and MMA to coordinate resources, teams and strategies to drive growth.
  • Provide oversight of consistency and format of the diligence deliverable to maintain best in class work product

What you need to have:

  • A min of 10+ years of experience within the H&B and the Privet equity space
  • High level of integrity, professionalism, and business ethics.
  • Bachelor’s degree in finance, business administration or a related field. MBA or advanced degree highly desirable
  • Strong network and industry contact and relationships within the health and benefits sector

The applicable base salary range for this role is $182,100 to $327,700.

The base pay offered will be determined on factors such as experience, skills, training, location, certifications, education, and any applicable minimum wage requirements. Decisions will be determined on a case-by-case basis. In addition to the base salary, this position may be eligible for performance-based incentives.
