Private Equity & Venture Capital Analyst (Vp Equivalent)

Your Role

We are looking for a Private Equity and Venture Capital Analyst to join our Private Investments team to expand our Alternatives business.

You will interact frequently with top fund managers in this role. You will also conduct comprehensive performance, risk, and investment due diligence on prospective and existing fund managers, in depth portfolio analysis, and help research, analyze, and synthesize industry and market events that could impact the PE/VC portfolio. Core activities will be analytical and will also require the ability to develop insights from the analysis.

What You Will Do

• Gather and synthesize industry information from leading on-line and off-line information sources as well as select conferences
• Provide analytical and research leadership in the analysis of current and prospective fund managers
• Develop performance and risk frameworks
• Consolidate quantitative (risk and performance) and qualitative monitoring data
• Participate in special projects on an ad-hoc basis
• Source and underwrite co-investments
• Actively drive due diligence meetings
• Drive analytics to evaluate performance of portfolio and funds under different macro scenarios
• Perform valuation, investment return and sensitivity analysis
• Develop investment committee presentations and collaborate on client communication materials
• Source fund managers

Who You Are

• Hold a Bachelor’s degree in the relevant fields
• Currently based in New York or willing to relocate to NY in the future (preferred), while remote locations will also be considered
• Have Microsoft Powerpoint and Excel capability with financial and statistical modeling experience
• Have ability to think critically, demonstrate strong quantitative and analytical skills, think conceptually, and synthesize complex data into insights
• A self-motivated team player who possesses intellectual curiosity, sound judgment, thoughtfulness, high attention to details, with a strong sense of ownership and eager to learn and work with others
• Have familiarity with applications used for business and industry research (e.g. Preqin, Factiva, Reuters Knowledge, CapitalIQ, Bloomberg, etc.)
• Have working experience at Endowment and Foundations, Pension Funds, Single/Multi-Family Offices, Banks, PE Fund of Funds or Secondaries firms
• Have strong verbal and written communication and are able to articulate insightful conclusions compellingly
• Have ability to multitask, prioritize and meet deadlines
• Have 8+ years of work experience in Private Equity/Venture Capital, alternative assets, corporate finance, equity research, investment banking, and/or strategy consulting

We determine your level based on factors including your interview performance, job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. Our offers are based on salary bands that are updated periodically using market benchmarks and consider geographic location as well (for example, higher cost regions like San Francisco or New York). If you are presented with an offer, we will review the base salary, benefits, number of options, notional option value and strike price. We would like to know if you accept our offer within 7 days.

Please keep in mind that the equity portion of your offer is not included in these numbers and represents a significant part of your total compensation.

IC I: $110,000-$180,000

IC II: $160,000-$230,000

IC III: $180,000-$300,000
