Job Summary
The Minnesota Veterans Home-Minneapolis is looking for a full-time Human Resources Specialist 2 to join their Staffing and Transactions team. This individual will join an ever evolving Human Resources family and provide support on the beautiful Minneapolis campus located in Minnehaha park. An individual in this position would provide professional level Human Resources services for the Minnesota Veterans Home-Minneapolis in areas including job classification, compensation and staffing (vacancy filling process), as well as provide Human Resources assistance on various special projects as assigned.
Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications

- Two (2) years of professional level human resources experience, in two or more of the following:
(*Completion of a Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources or closely related degree program may substitute for six months of the above experience requirements.)
AND
Qualified candidates must demonstrate the following:
- Experience administering hiring processes.
- Analytical skills sufficient to evaluate complex information, perform research, conduct, and document job analyses and make job classification recommendations.
- Strong computer skills including experience with word processing, spreadsheets, and/or databases.
- Ability to interpret employment laws, rules, administrative procedures, and collective bargaining agreements sufficient to ensure consistent and compliant practices.
- Experience developing and applying assessment and selection criteria, such as minimum and preferred qualifications, and structured interview questions and scored anchors.
- Decision making skills with the ability to evaluate complex information, research options and responses.
- Ability to provide work direction and prioritize a comprehensive workload in a fast-paced environment.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience using recruiting/hiring software such as Recruiting Solution.
- Experience processing transactions in an HRIS system such as SEMA4.
- Experience administering and interpreting and applying the provisions of collective bargaining agreements.
- Experience with Korn-Ferry (Hay Rating) or similar job evaluation process.
- Bachelors or advanced degree in Human Resources (or a closely related field).
