TGH has experienced significant growth in recent years and is considering further expansion.
About This Role
Reporting to the Chief People Officer, the Human Resources Generalist will be responsible for performing various administrative and operational tasks within the department to support the organization. Directly supporting the Chief People Officer, the Human Resource Generalist will be the first point of contact for the HR team and will assist in running the daily functions of the Human Resource (HR) department.
The HR Generalist plays a critical role in executing HR processes and procedures, ensuring a positive experience for TGH staff. The goal is to ensure the HR department’s operations will be running smoothly and effectively to deliver maximum value to the organization as a whole.

Professional Characteristics
  • Assist in the communication, interpretation, and upkeep of employee handbook, employee directory, and organizational chart, and contribute to policy development.
  • Maintains knowledge of trends, best practices, regulatory changes, and new technologies in human resources, talent management, and employment law.
  • Assists with recruiting, interviews, and facilitates the hiring of qualified job applicants for open positions; collaborates with departmental hiring managers to understand skills and competencies required for openings.
  • Implements new hire orientation and employee recognition programs.
  • Maintains compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations, and recommended best practices; reviews policies and practices to maintain compliance.
  • Manage HR communications flowing in and out of the HR department.
  • Attends and participates in employee disciplinary meetings, terminations, and investigations when needed.
  • Handles employment-related inquiries from applicants, employees, and supervisors, referring complex and/or sensitive matters to the appropriate staff.
  • Manage the information within the HRIS databases to ensure accuracy and completeness of data.
  • Reviews, tracks, and documents compliance with mandatory and non-mandatory training, continuing education, and work assessments. This may include safety training, anti-harassment training, professional licensure, and aptitude exams and certifications.
  • Assists with and/or performs routine tasks required to administer and execute human resource programs including but not limited to compensation, benefits, disciplinary matters; disputes and investigations; performance and talent management, organizing quarterly and annual performance reviews; productivity, recognition, and morale; occupational health and safety; and training and development.
  • Support the full employee life cycle of TGH employees from onboarding to off-boarding and all points in between.
  • Other duties as assigned
  • Support top management in decision-making related to people management.
  • Ensure that data is up to date, compliant and kept confidential.
  • Conducts or acquires background checks and employee eligibility verifications.
  • Provide a dedicated and effective HR advisory service to employees that covers absence and health issues, conduct and capability, grievances, organizational change, and all other employee-relations matters

  • Understanding of HR policies and best business practice when it comes to processes and procedures.
  • Ability to quickly learn new technologies. A desire to expand their knowledge base continuously. Knowledge of the following technologies is a plus:

  • Thorough knowledge of employment-related laws and regulations.
  • Google Workspace
  • Superb computer literacy! Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.
  • Excellent organizational skills and meticulous attention to detail.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Slack
  • Willingness to acquire HR Certification within 12 months of hire.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Proficiency with or the ability to quickly learn the organization’s HRIS and talent management systems.
  • Ability to work independently and proactively thinking about what needs to be done.

Compensation
TGH strives to offer competitive salaries within the nonprofit field. Paid time off, extremely generous benefits including 100% employer sponsored health insurance, and a real commitment to work/life balance are standard and exceed traditional nonprofit industry standards. Salary range $68K to $80K
Organizational Information
Will be a part of the HR team reporting directly to the Chief People Officer.
