Hiring Immediately - Human Resources Assistant

 

Transdev Services, Inc. is seeking a Human Resources Assistant for its Boston Public Schools transportation contract. The ideal candidate will provide administrative support to the Human Resources Department.

  • E nsures all personnel records are accurately maintained.
  • Provides clerical and administrative support to the Human Resources Department and other departments, as needed.
  • Copies, scans, and files documents in the appropriate place.  Makes copies of employee records as required.
  • Performs special projects and o ther duties as required.
  • Prepares new hire, retirement, and leave packets.
  • Ensures all up-to-date notices are properly displayed throughout the Main Office.
  • Serves as the Main Office Receptionist, greeting and directing visitors.
  • Assists with the recruitment life cycle process to include telephone pre-screenings, scheduling in-person and Microsoft Teams interviews, initiating background screenings, and  onboarding into the human resources information system.
  • A ssists with the administration and tracking of benefits and leaves of absence.
  • M aintains confidentiality of all information.

 

 

Education, Licensing, and Certifications Required:

  • High school diploma or equivalent, such as GED.

Education, Licensing, and Certifications Preferred:

  • A degree in Human Resources, Business or related field preferred.

Experience Required:

  • At least one (1) year of experience in the human resources field related to recruitment, selection, and/or benefits administration.

Skills and Knowledge Required:

  • The ability to work effectively with a diverse workforce.
  • Understanding of employment laws and regulations.
  • Working knowledge and proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint.  Experience with HRIS and/or ADP .
  • Strong oral communication and interpersonal skills.
  • The ability to handle multiple tasks and demonstrated ability to meet deadlines.
  • The ability to read, understand, and interpret instructions, policies, and procedures.
  • Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • The ability to effectively interact with employees at all levels within the organization, client representatives, and representatives from outside agencies.

Pre-Employment Requirements:

  • Must submit to drug testing and a background check.

Physical Requirements:

  • 90% of work is accomplished indoors and in air conditioned or well ventilated facilities.
  • Work is accomplished in an office or in a cubicle space equipped with a telephone and computer.
  • The employee is generally subjected to long periods spent sitting, typing, or looking at a computer screen.
  • Must be able to work shifts or flexible work schedules as needed.
  • Travel required outside of immediate area <5%.
