Job Description

Reporting to the Director of HR Technology and Operations, the HR Records Technician is responsible for providing administrative and clerical support to the HR Records Office. This position assists in administrative tasks, safeguards HR records, and manages the lifecycle of official employment records. The ideal applicant is a detail-oriented, organized self-starter with excellent interpersonal skills.


Duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to
  • Follow up with new employees to ensure that all documents are completed and submitted promptly.
  • Adhere to records management policies and procedures to ensure compliance.
  • Coordinate the posting of compliance and labor law posters on-line and in physical locations, in accordance with federal, state and local regulations.
  • Perform general administrative functions including
  • Support worker’s compensation claims processing.
  • Create and maintain accurate electronic personnel files for all employees by reviewing, scanning, and indexing all employment documents from the start to the end of employment in a timely manner.
  • Attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Work full-time from the Menlo Park, CA office location.
  • Process all incoming new hire paperwork, ensuring accuracy and compliance with I-9 and other legal requirements.
  • Interface with all members of HR on key HR Operations and programs.
  • Relatable, personable, and productive within a team environment.
  • Support the employee Service Anniversary program.
  • Assist in the ongoing audit and clean-up of existing paper documents.
  • Basic knowledge of the internet, Microsoft Office, with aptitude for learning other software.
  • Answer employee/candidate inquiries.
  • Assist with all employee onboarding and offboarding activities as directed.
  • Basic knowledge of HR processes and practices.
  • Effective file management skills.
  • Ability to handle confidential information with a high degree of professionalism.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
  • Respond to employment verification requests.
  • Provide general office clerical support, including, but not limited to, photocopying, scanning, emailing, and filing.
  • Provide administrative support to the HR Technology team, Business Partners, Employees and Managers as requested.
  • Excellent organizational and planning skills.
  • Self-starter with the ability to work independently with minimal supervision and collaborate across teams as directed.
  • 1-2 years of similar experience.


The salary range is $25.00-$28.00 per hour. Salary ranges will vary and are based on several factors, including geographic location, market competitiveness and equity amongst internal employees in similar roles. Positions may also qualify for SRI's Pay for Outstanding Performance program or the annual Performance Based Compensation program.
