Job Description

YOUR MISSION:


Under general guidance of the Group Manager/Sr. HR Manager, performs professional senior level human resources work and carries out responsibilities in some or all of the following functional areas; expat program, personnel research, employee relations, immigration process support; compensation, training, HRIS administrator, talent acquisition, affirmative action and other human resources special projects.


A DAY IN THE LIFE:

  • Partners with the recruiting team as needed to provide professional recruiting assistance such as preparing job requisitions, interviewing/screening professional and technical job applicants, negotiating salaries and relocation agreements, crafting compensation proposals, writing offer letters, and conducting orientation programs. Will partner with hiring manager and Compensation as needed to review/update position requirements to ensure that the job description accurately reflects the most current business needs.
  • May develop and propose improvement to policies, programs, and procedures to improve the effectiveness of HR and operations.
  • In accordance with 3rd party administrator, manage the Leave of Absence and Accommodations process for the organization.
  • Assists in the termination and off boarding process by sitting in as the HR representation during the exit meetings and terminating the employee from the HRIS systems.
  • Supports and lead tasks related to the Expat program (global and domestic). Provides information to responsible HR person to ensure timely processing of requests, including needs for U.S. work visa sponsorships. Partners with International HR to ensure smooth on and off boarding of all Expats.
  • May work with Company Immigration attorney to provide support and direction with regards to PASA immigration program and coordination with HRBP, Legal and Accounting on Expatriate programs.
  • Conduct or assist in the conduction of company investigations pertaining to community of HR issues including Hotline calls as appropriate ensuring the compliance of managers and associates with company policies as well as federal, state, and local employment related laws.
  • Provides professional level support to all HR functions including employment, employment equity programs, personnel research, employee relations, compensation, training, and affirmative action as required.
  • Performance management. Analyzes and provides advice, coaching, and counseling to supervisors and managers on methods and approaches to resolving employee work problems.
  • Work with employees and managers to resolve employee relations concerns that may arise.
  • Assists Human Resources (HR) management in the overall administration, communication, and analysis of HR programs and responsibilities.
  • Develops relationships with and advises individuals, employee groups, and leaders of the business by communicating and interpreting HR policies, programs and procedures while providing leadership around organizational change and process consultation. Imparts HR expertise to management regarding risks associated with current business practices and influences clients with recommendations for improvement based on company policy, positive employee relations, and applicable laws.


MUST-HAVES:

  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field and a minimum of five years related experience in HR or seven years related experience in HR or the equivalent combination of experience, education and/or training.
  • PHR/SPHR Human Resources Certification strongly preferred.
  • Must have general knowledge of HR and HR technical competences in employment, employee/labor relations, training/development, compensation, benefits, and HR legal compliance (EEO, FMLA, OSHA, FLSA, Title VII, etc.).
  • Bilingual English/Japanese high preferred.
  • Demonstrated intermediate to advanced proficiency with MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
