Job Description
Human Resources Generalist - Fully Remote


Salary: $45,000 - $60,000 annual (based on experience)


Full Time – 40 hrs. per week


Role Summary


The Human Resources Generalist (HRG) serves as a point of contact for questions, processes and consultation providing dedicated guidance and coaching to managers and employees with a focus on HR and recruiting fundamentals. This position supports multiple clients.


Essential Functions & Responsibilities


Responsibilities determined by specific client need and scope of work. In general, the following are essential functions of this contract position. May serve as direct point of contact for smaller clients.


HR Support and Employee Relations for multiple clients:


  • Respond (timely) to employee questions and concerns
  • Research HR issues
  • Advise and coach managers on employee relations issues.
  • Prepares employee communications (offer letters, termination letters, bonus letters).
  • Consults with line management, providing HR guidance when appropriate.
  • Conduct investigations and manage employee complaints.
  • Conducts weekly meetings with respective client business units.


HR Compliance


  • Assist with benefits administration including FMLA, ADA, Worker’s Compensation and Unemployment Claims.
  • Maintains employee records and personnel files.


Employee Relations / Performance Management


  • Recommends improvements to policies and procedures based on business needs/trends.
  • As a link between management and employees by answering questions and helping resolve work-related problems.
  • Represents the client organization at personnel-related hearings and investigations as needed.
  • Applies and interprets policies and procedures for basic and complex employment issues.
  • To identify reasons for employee termination.
  • Assists in ensuring compliance with Federal, State, and Local labor and employment laws as well as accrediting agencies.


Benefit / Payroll Administration for multiple clients:
  • Ensures enrollment, claim resolution, change reporting, approving invoices for payment, and communicating benefit information to employees.
  • Serves as the point person for Benefits and Payroll administration.
  • Run payroll reports and perform QA process.
  • Leads and monitors Leave, FMLA, ADA, Worker Compensation and Payroll functions:
  • Process payroll (ADP, Gusto, Paylocity, Paychex)
  • Serves as Liaison with external benefit and payroll partners (i.e., brokers and ADP account managers)


Recruiting/Staffing /Onboarding (multiple clients):


  • Plans and conducts new employee orientation, including developing new hire presentations and materials.
  • Supports client recruiting efforts including assessing staffing needs, posting jobs screening candidates, coordination of interviews, consultation with managers in hiring decisions/selection, and extending job offers.
  • Creates and implements process improvements, selection tools and best in-class practices to improve the recruitment process (measures include time-to-fill, cost to hire, quality of hires, and retention rates.)
  • Responds to candidate inquiries and works to ensure a positive candidate experience. Reviews resumes, conducts phone screens, and evaluates applications for job fit – using work history, education and training, salary desired, and other skills and abilities to determine qualifications for employment.


Other


  • Serves as main point of contact for designated clients.
  • Supports other HR projects as assigned.


Required Qualifications


  • An HR Certification preferred (PHR, SPHR, SHRM-CP or SHRM-SCP.)
  • Ability to balance multiple tasks and responsibilities is a must.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of employment and HR operations is required.
  • Bachelor's Degree from an accredited university and three (3) to five (5) years of Human Resources experience including the demonstrated ability as a true HR Generalist with experience in a variety of functional areas (recruiting, staffing, benefits administration including FMLA, ADA, WC and UI).
  • A Master's degree in Human Resources Management and five (5) plus years of experience in the HR field is a plus.

  • Accuracy with business correspondence (grammar, structure, punctuation, and spelling).

  • Experience with HRIS/Payroll systems: Paylocity, Paychex, ADP, Gusto preferred.
  • Strong interpersonal, organizational, customer service, presentation, and critical thinking skills with sound judgement.
  • Proficiency with Google Docs, ADP, and Microsoft Office products (Word, Excel, Outlook, PPT).
  • Strong project and time management skills: ability to multi-task, prioritize and balance workload to meet expectations.

Work Environment


This role is fully remote. This job operates in a professional office environment. Some assignments may require travel to client site for meetings. This role routinely uses standard office equipment.


Physical Demands


While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear. The employee may be required to stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle or feel; and reach with hands and arms.


Position Type/Expected Hours of Work


This is a full-time position. Hours of work are flexible Monday through Friday between the hours of 8:00am and 6:00pm (generally 40 hours per week).
