About The Role


We are looking for an engaging, relationship-driven Head of New Business to join our team. You will have the unique opportunity to build and manage our new business operation. Within this role, you will be the face of January Digital to all new business prospects, helping to grow the agency through new and exciting opportunities and developing pipelines.


This role will require you to run our new business/sale process from beginning to end. Being a great relationship builder and salesperson is a plus, but most importantly you will be asked to manage the process and follow leads that come from existing relationships.

Key Duties And Responsibilities


  • You will represent January Digital at industry events, external meetings, and networking opportunities. Must have the ability to enter a room and create meaningful connections, always adding a thoughtful perspective that turns initial contact into further conversations.
  • You will build the process for and managing January Digital's new business operation from scratch. While we have ways of working already in place, we are looking for someone to upgrade us and build a best-in-class process.
  • When necessary, cold calling, emailing, and reaching out to potential prospects.
  • You will manage leads that come in based on client and previous relationships - which means treating those relationships with deep care and respect.
  • You will work hand-in-hand with marketing team to ensure to effectively utilize all marketing initiatives to drive new business, including nurturing all qualified leads, executing excellent on-site representation at events, and effectively utilizing all marketing materials to best drive the business forward.
  • You will represent January Digital on the frontlines with all inquiries and prospects. This role will partner closely with the executive team (Founder, President, and SVP of each division) to make sure we have clear plans to focus on and develop our prospects.
  • You will lead our pitch process from discovery through final presentation, including working with account teams on strategy, organization, messaging, deck building, managing all timelines, and integrating team members throughout. While you are supported by different members of the organization, you are ultimately accountable for each step and outcome.
  • You will develop a clear and concise project plan for each pitch and establishing clear ownership and accountability while managing each stakeholder throughout the process.
  • Your core responsibility is to own all aspects of building our business development department. This includes building and executing the strategy, plans, and processes that will drive sales, increase revenue, help us expand into adjacent markets while accomplishing well-established financial goals.
  • You will set clear expectations on the impact you will have on the organization. This includes setting financial and developmental goals as well as developing a thorough lead management system, providing prospect communication excellence and keeping us data-driven in our new business efforts.


Qualifications


  • Deep knowledge of the retail, CPG, or beauty landscape preferred.
  • Extremely strong creative / storytelling skills are a must.
  • 5+ years of account management in an agency or business technology organization
  • Deep knowledge of the agency and media space is a requirement.
  • High design taste and standards when it comes to external deliverables.
  • Extremely strong ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks and teams simultaneously while working under pressure to meet deadlines.
  • Extremely strong communication skills are a must.
  • 7+ years' involvement in managing new business processes and direct interaction with executive level prospects.
