Head Of Business Applications

Our direct and fast-growing financials client is seeking to add a Head of Business Applications to their team in a newly created role reporting directly to the CTO. This role requires 4 days per week onsite in NYC. This individual will select, assemble and connect a growing list of front-office applications supporting credit, private equity, and insurance businesses as well as manage multiple simultaneous large-scale projects (e.g. implementation of SaaS products, analysis of proposed vendor solutions, automation of certain workflows, data warehousing. etc) The ideal candidate is a mix of hands-on technical data expert, with a background in managing or developing front-office systems. This is a "Green field" opportunity to build an investment platform from the ground up. Our client offers excellent benefits, generous overall compensation package, and other perks. Responsibilities:

• Develop a roadmap of key projects that contribute to improving our operating model
• Assist users with product education, identifying training opportunities and maintain the master data dictionary of golden sources
• Participate in the selection of data warehouse, data lake, transformation, and reporting tooling
• Analyze trends to make recommendations for possible service enhancements or proactive issue resolution
• Develop a data strategy roadmap to store and organize the firm’s information and maintain robust systems documentation
• Evaluate Third-Party vendors to determine best fit solutions or whether to build solutions in-house
• Lead the company’s Core systems implementation and front-office tool selection and monitor key service providers and software vendors to ensure quality of service
• Leverage APIs and web services call to load and extract data out of 3rd party systems
• Produce and deliver senior management presentations, to transmit complex able in a non-technical way
• Create automation of routine tasks (using PowerShell, Flow, PowerBI and other tools)
• Lead Major Incident & Crisis Management Processes during unexpected issues
• Meet with Business leaders to assess requirements and develop solutions that adhere to Engineering standards, that meet the needs of the business
• Provide security and access administration oversight across all provisioned products
• Work with the larger Technology team as a key member of Technology leadership to transform the firm

Required Qualifications:

• 5+ years experience in leading such a team.
• Expert knowledge of:
• Data warehouse technologies (e.g. Snowflake, Databricks, Amazon Redshift, Azure Data) and associated tooling
• Buy-side financial services technologies and products including Trading and Portfolio management systems (Allvue strongly preferred)
• Data governance and management best practices
• Multiple Market Data platforms
• Experience implementing core systems with knowledge of advanced Data and BI tools
• 10+ years experience in a with a financial services development team in the Alternative investments industry
• Reporting & Business Intelligence technologies (e.g. PowerBI, Tableau)
• Bachelor or Master’s Degree in relevant field
