Head Of Business Development - Digital Assets (New York)

Our client is a leading algorithmic trading firm providing liquidity across all asset classes including crypto to global institutions.

This role is based in New York but may involve travel to other domestic and international financial centres.

In this newly created role, you will be joining the global team to focus on North America activities and get the opportunity to help shape, define and deliver the firm’s emerging US options business.

Responsibilities

· Research, investigate, summarize, and present detailed knowledge for potential new business activities and product areas, with a major focus on our U.S. equities and emerging U.S. options business

· Take ownership and manage the end-to-end delivery of projects, involving regular engagement with local and global teams

· Manage commercial and technical optimisation of existing businesses to enhance performance

· Support Americas leadership in implementing growth strategy

· Develop a deep understanding of financial market microstructure and effect of changes

· Build impactful relationships with external partners, including venues, brokers, and counterparts

· Gather market intelligence, including upcoming regulatory changes

· Provide thoughtful ideas on wider group strategy to increase business and partnership opportunities

Skills & Experience

· Minimum 5 years of experience in a relevant role in a leading financial firm (such as banks, trading firms, exchanges, brokers)

· Knowledge of U.S. Equities and Options markets is required

· Exposure to technology (potentially outside of finance) and technical skills are a plus

· Detailed understanding of entire trade workflow is preferred

· Extremely disciplined approach in executing business ideas, with an acute judgement of effort vs benefit

· Curiosity, detail orientation, logical thought process and efficient time management

· Effective communication with global teams with various cross-functional teams

· Ability and confidence to build or maintain relationships at a mid to senior level with external partners

· Entrepreneurial mentality, taking responsibility for businesses, including upside and downside
