The Role


TrueML is seeking an experienced, mission-driven VP, People Strategy and Operations with demonstrated success in helping take a company through a high ­growth phase with ever-increasing complexity. As the leader of the People Strategy and Operations team and a business partner to the President, Steve Carlson, the VP, People Strategy and Operations will play a critical role leading executives and the broader leadership team in bringing TrueML’s mission and vision to life through the design, communication, and execution of our people strategies and programming (performance management, compensation philosophies, etc.) He/she will be a key member of the senior leadership team, crafting and deploying effective employee engagement and retention strategies across our matrixed hybrid work environment to ensure an extraordinary employee experience.


The VP and Head of, People and Operations will manage our dynamic People team, including the People Operations, HR Business Partner, L&D and Talent Acquisition functions. The candidate must possess experience overseeing the scalability of people operations to ensure that proper people policies, processes, tools, and systems are in place that solve current problems and prepare the company for future growth within a highly regulated environment.


Our VP, People and Operations will be a seasoned leader, ready to tell the story of a strong mission-driven organization that is tackling an untapped area of fintech, all while serving the greater social good.


Qualifications


  • Demonstrated understanding of business goals and ability to inspire and harness our most important asset (people) to achieve them. Make people development core to how we enable performance and business success through iterating and evolving our L&D programs to better uplevel our talent and enable career growth and advancement
  • Ability to effectively engage with, and deliver results within, a diverse employee base that includes a remote-work based population of “tech” employees (product, engineering) and in-office call center teams
  • Strong knowledge of employment laws, regulations, and compliance requirements related to both fintech and collections/financial services operations
  • Experience designing and leading DEI initiatives with proven results for hiring, development, engagement, and retention
  • Dynamic people leader with experience guiding geographically-dispersed, high-growth companies through the complexities of rapid scaling
  • 12+ years experience growing and managing multiple functions within the People organization (compensation, benefits, L&D, Talent Acquisition, onboarding, engagement, etc.)
