Grooming Assistant Jobs

Hungry Hound is seeking gentle and caring, energetic, and hard-working individuals for bather positions. Our perfect fit for this position would be someone who is calm under stress, has a great love for animals, and is warm and friendly. The right candidate may be able to go through our apprenticeship program to be trained as a groomer.

Responsibilities:

• Making sure dogs are 100% dry.
• Nail trimming and filing.
• Anal gland expression.
• Teeth brushing and/or add-on services such as de-shedding, facials, and deep conditioners
• Ear cleaning.
• Bathing completely each time until the water runs clear.

Requirements:

• 1 year of prior bathing experience in a salon is a plus but WE WILL TRAIN YOU.
• Be able and willing to perform walk-in services such as nail trims and ear cleaning.
• Provide exceptional customer service with a smile.
• Be able to lift both small and giant breed dogs and restrain them for their safety when necessary.
• Support groomers whenever necessary.
• Excellent communication skills with dog owners to ensure services they require are understood and/or concerns are communicated after.
• Be careful, kind, and safe with all breeds and temperaments of dogs.
• Have a friendly, positive, and approachable personality.
• Be punctual and prepared as clients arrive, finishing all dogs in a timely manner.
• Maintain a clean environment, including (but not limited to) keeping hair and debris off floors for all groomers in the salon that day and taking care of laundry.

Schedule:

• Ability to work one weekend day
• Full-time and part-time positions are available.
• Out by 5 or earlier every day!

Pay is hourly depending on experience.
