Role Objective

Responsible for global procurement of systems, services and materials to sustain Enterprise effectiveness in timely execution of key initiatives and plans. Develops and maintains supplier relationships for competitive advantage. Cultivates partnerships with internal stakeholders, including senior leadership within HR, IT, Legal and other vital resource groups.

Essential Functions and Responsibilities

• Develop solid knowledge of global suppliers, industries and technologies to proactively manage financial and supply risk
• Develop cost models and understanding of cost structures by material/services
• Provide excellent support and information to internal and external customers
• Negotiate and establish written agreements in accordance with Sourcing Plans
• Provide backup to other Global Souring Agents when needed
• Develop and execute short and long-term purchasing strategies, plans, programs and systems to ensure achievement of economic and strategic objectives
• Preparation and evaluation of proposals, bids, negotiations, etc.
• Lead/Support cost out initiatives
• Exhibit strong supplier/manufacturer development capabilities for mutual goals/measures
• Understand forecasts and capacities for internal and external production to ensure resource availability
• Drive working capital improvements in payment term extensions, lead time reductions, and optimal minimum order quantities (MOQs)
• Monitor contractual obligations for compliance
• Model procurement best practices and processes for the team and enterprise
• Support New Product Development initiatives
• Align with Enterprise to link with suppliers for innovation and sustainability

Education and Experience

• CPM or CPSM certification preferred but not required
• Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management or a related field preferred, with (2) years’ sourcing experience
• In lieu of degree, minimum five (5) years’ relevant procurement experience required
• Candidates with experience leading the evaluation and negotiation of contracts for services will be prioritized
• Experience with six sigma and Lean manufacturing desired
• Experience with integrated purchasing/MRP information systems (preferably SAP) strongly preferred

Travel Requirements

Overnight Travel - sporadic - required.
