Job Description
Dematic is currently searching for a Global Data Management and Governance Lead to join our growing organization. He/she will design and implement new processes, standards, and practices to ensure efficient and effective data management, governance, quality, and accuracy across the organization. This leadership role will work closely with Dematic business stakeholders and data owners, the KION Global Data Management team, and KION Group IT to ensure standards, policies, and processes align with company-wide practices and will implement local capabilities to govern data effectively.


Ideal candidates will have a background in data governance and a broad-based background in business with a strong ability to work across global, diverse teams to effectively get things done. They will play a critical role in the successful transformation of the KION and Dematic businesses enabled by new technology platforms. Working closely with the transformation program team and key data owners and stakeholders across the organization, this leader will help shape the data landscape of the future for the company. Tasks and Qualifications:


This is What You Will do in This Role:


  • Provide thought leadership in the area of master data and data management and influence to enable the organization to embody digital business capabilities supported by data
  • Model our Values of Integrity, Collaboration, Courage, and Excellence
  • Manage the definition of standardized and harmonized approach for Data Lifecycle processes and Data Migration processes
  • Ensures transparency in how data and processes need to flow to enable the pivot to a data driven company
  • Develop and maintain the inventory of the Dematic data (object) maps, including (leading, lagging systems and departments as well as responsibilities)
  • Continuously assess and identify data governance related risks, ensuring they are owned and mitigated
  • Ensure consistency of process and usage, and champion best practices in data management. Oversees data accuracy processes, goals and assessment.
  • Develop and deliver consistent data management and data governance strategy and roadmap which is aligned with the business strategy and the master data requirements of KIONs OU’s and Central Functions - Governance, Migration, Quality
  • Partner with global counterparts in other regions to ensure proper data governance and effective data management
  • Spearhead the data governance function for Dematic to define and implement data policies and standards in conjunction with the KION global management team to ensure data standards, quality, and accuracy
  • Lead the deployment of a large-scale, global data management program
  • Collaboration with Business Process Management within KION BTO, Business Integration Management and related initiatives and projects
  • Lead and coordinate the MDM activities of Dematic -- Establish roles and responsibilities regarding data governance and ensure clear accountability for stewardship of the company-wide data objects/assets
  • Translate business requirements of Dematic into a joined / harmonized master data management approach
  • Define Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) and quality metrics to ensure the compliance with data related policies, standards as well as roles and responsibilities
  • Review and analyze impact of business process change requests on Data framework
  • Audit Business Process Owners on adherence to Data framework and data creation & maintenance processes
  • Oversee and lead the Data Management Organization including Data Object Owners, Data Governance and Data Quality and Migration
  • Act as an agent between Business and IT to ensure that data related business requirements for protecting sensitive data are clearly defined, communicated and well understood and considered as part of operational prioritization and planning
  • Use specialist knowledge and expertise to identify improvements to ensure that the enterprise data governance standards continue to evolve to meet the changing regulatory and business landscape


What We are Looking For:


  • SAP MDG experience preferred
  • Strong project management experience
  • Knowledge of industry leading data quality and data protection management practices
  • Ability to analyze and interpret critical path, draw conclusions, and prepare clear and concise analyses and recommendations.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Data & Analytics, Engineering, or comparable studies
  • Excellent analytical skills, a strong focus on details as well as problem-solving competence
  • Exceptional leadership, relationship development and influencing skills.
  • Deep skills with change management concepts and strategies, including communication, culture change and performance measurement system design
  • Knowledge of industry leading data management and data governance practices
  • Experience on large scale technology projects with a focus on data
  • Strong reputation with the organization and proven track record
  • Ability to work with data in a technical and commercial context
  • Superior verbal, written, and presentation skills
  • Relevant experience in working at a senior level with technology and business stakeholders
  • Prior SAP experience required
  • Strong organizational, multi-tasking and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong business acumen across multiple disciplines such as Finance, Supply Chain, Sales, Product Development, and HR (prefer candidates with experience working in a business function at some point in career)
  • Knowledge of data related government regulatory requirements and emerging trends and issues
  • Self-starting individual with can-do attitude
  • 10+ years of work experience in business, data, technology or related areas
  • Experience with data migration projects
  • 10% to 20% travel – some international
  • Experience leading data management / governance program or master data management function and process management
  • Strong communication and facilitation skills in English and in an international and intercultural environment
