Analyst Role
Analysts at Harris Williams play an integral role in all the firm’s merger and acquisition advisory activities. Analysts learn the deal process through live transaction work alongside seasoned banking professionals and are active contributors during every phase of the deal process. As an Analyst, you have a high level of exposure to clients, represent the firm throughout the entire deal process, and cultivate a well-rounded skillset as an M&A expert within a specific industry group.
We expect to hire analysts in our Boston, Minneapolis, Richmond and San Francisco offices. Indicate in your cover letter which location you are applying.
Along with your teammates, you will create major deal process deliverables, including:
  • Valuation Analysis
  • Management Presentation
  • Pitch Materials

Eligible candidates should be working towards or already possess a Bachelor's degree from a four-year institution, and maintain a cumulative GPA of 3.2 or higher as a prerequisite. No specific academic major is required; however, basic knowledge of finance and accounting is desired.
Harris Williams fosters an inclusive culture through hiring quality people who are committed, tenacious, smart and principled – dedicated to achieving the right results for our clients, the right way. We are committed to building a unique firm by valuing and developing talent and deepening relationships with our clients. Harris Williams looks for Analysts with the following attributes:

Training & Development
New analysts and associates convene in Richmond for a robust training program designed to integrate you into our culture, provide thorough knowledge of the M&A process, and prepare you to hit the ground running. The HW training program includes a week of valuation and modeling training with Wall Street Prep, followed by internally-led training sessions detailing each key aspect of a sell-side M&A transaction. This is just the beginning of an extensive learning experience at Harris Williams.
Mentorship
Mentorship – both formal and organic – is critical to our people’s success. Analysts are assigned mentors who serve as your “go to” resource and help acclimate you to the role. Our lean deal teams, apprenticeship model, and flat organizational culture ensures you will also find additional mentors along the way.
