Position Summary: As a Financial Business Analyst at Carbo, you will play a crucial role in supporting our financial operations by providing accurate and timely financial analysis, reporting, and insights. Your expertise in month-end reporting, variance analysis, budgeting, forecasting, and cost savings methods will contribute to the financial success of our organization.
Key Roles / Responsibilities:
- Improve metric reporting for sales key performance indicators (KPIs) to provide meaningful insights and support sales strategies.
- Collaborate with the Accounting group to assist with month-end close activities, including journal entries, reconciliations, and financial statement preparation.
- Prepare and analyze month-end reports, ensuring accuracy and adherence to deadlines.
- Utilize financial software systems, including SAP, to extract and analyze data for reporting and analysis purposes.
- Support budgeting and forecasting processes, working closely with stakeholders to gather financial data, analyze trends, and provide accurate projections.
- Identify and implement cost savings methods and process improvements to optimize financial performance.
- Conduct variance analysis to identify and explain financial discrepancies, highlighting key drivers and recommending corrective actions.
- Generate ad hoc reports and provide data-driven insights to support decision-making processes across various departments.
- Stay updated with industry trends, regulations, and best practices related to financial analysis and reporting.
Required Education, Experience, and Qualifications:
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy in financial analysis and reporting.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
- Experience with month-end reporting processes and financial statement analysis.
- Proficiency in financial analysis techniques, including variance analysis, trend analysis, and forecasting.
- Experience with SAP or other financial software systems is highly desirable.
- Solid understanding of budgeting and forecasting principles.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience as a Financial Analyst or similar role, preferably in a corporate setting.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to effectively present financial information to stakeholders.
- Bachelor’s degree in finance, Accounting, or a related field.
- Advanced Excel skills, including data manipulation, formulas, and pivot tables.
- Strong analytical skills with a proven ability to interpret complex financial data and generate actionable insights.
Working Conditions:
- Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
- Must be able to lift 15 pounds at times.
- Must be able to speak clearly on the phone and to fellow workers.
- Must be able to complete tasks even with frequent interruptions.
- Moves throughout the building to access files.
- Must be able to comprehend and follow written and oral instructions.
- Positions self to install equipment, including under desks.
- Must be able to use discretion and independent judgment as needed.
