The Kentucky Artisan Center at Berea has an opening a Maintenance Worker I.

The Maintenance Worker I is responsible for
  • Helps with needed preventive maintenance
  • Helps to complete minor repairs
  • Helps with set-up for events and exhibits
  • Maintains cleanliness in the building and on the grounds
  • Helps to maintain equipment
  • Maintains standards for personnel performance and customer service
  • Provides assistance to other departments, as needed
The Maintenance Worker I is expected to perform all duties to the best of their ability, act in a responsible manner at all times, demonstrate excellent leadership qualities and treat all staff and patrons with respect.

This role requires maturity, reliability, and self-discipline. Should be thoroughly knowledgeable in the following areas: equipment maintenance, sanitation, conducting training, security, safety and accident prevention and customer relations.

SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS (AGE, LICENSURE, REGULATION, ETC.): Must be 18 years of age.
Working Conditions
Incumbents in this job title may be exposed to extreme temperatures which requires the following of safety procedures. Must follow safety procedures, such as utilization of eye and ear protection, when utilizing certain mechanical equipment.
Probationary Period
This job has an initial and promotional probationary period of 6 months, except as provided in KRS 18A.111.
