Salary range at $95k to $105k
Job Summary
Perform duties to maintain equipment by completing preventive maintenance schedules; restoring, repairing, rebuilding, or replacing faulty or inoperative components and parts; supervising staff.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
- Uses WMS 8 step problem solving, Kaizen and other Lean tools to support operations
- Maintains function and reliability of facility systems and associated equipment by implementing a preventive maintenance program; operating and testing systems and equipment; restoring, repairing, rebuilding, or replacing faulty or inoperative components and parts.
- Prepares budgets and secures estimates and cost quotes as needed.
- Complete, update and maintain a wide range of records and documentation including logs, MSDS sheets and asset inventory to ensure that records are current and meet with established standards for accuracy and completeness.
- Enforces, participates and embraces World Management Systems
- Read and work from checklists, schedules, service requests, logs, drawings or instructions to perform assigned tasks. Respond to service requests and follow production instructions to ensure quality of final product.
- Maintain valid State Driver’s License with a good driving record and required insurance.
- Arranges for and manages appropriate third-party contractor support as needed.
- Manages and staffs for the completion of the day-to-day activities involving the maintenance of the building/facility, equipment and machinery and overall facility appearance.
- Track and determine the status of service requests in computer system and close records for completed orders. Investigate and resolve issues where service orders are past due.
- Enforces sound safety practices.
- Improves function and reliability of facility systems and associated equipment by studying performance results; identifying, recommending, and implementing changes, expansions, and additions.
- Creates processes that insure the proper priority and work is being done to insure operations is able to meet customer requirements and objectives
- Prepares work schedules, assigns work and oversees the work product while minimizing overtime and call-in hours.
- Develops and maintains a preventative and predictive maintenance schedule program for applicable building and equipment.
- Evaluates functionality and reliability of facility equipment by conferring with operating departments; identifying problems and requirements.
- Maintain spare parts inventory. Requisition supplies, materials, and parts as required ensuring that inventories are maintained at prescribed levels.
Additional Duties & Responsibilities
- Maintain safe work area and comply with safety procedures while performing the work.
- Conduct business at all times with the highest standards of personal, professional and ethical conduct.
- Follow all policies and Standard Operating Procedures as instructed by Management.
- Participate in any variety of meetings and work groups to integrate activities, communicate issues, obtain approvals, resolve problems and maintain specified level of knowledge pertaining to new developments, requirements, policies, and regulatory guidelines.
- Perform or assist with any range of special projects, tasks and other related duties as assigned to maintain workflow and meet schedules.
Supervisory Responsibility
Directly supervise a team within the Maintenance department.
Education & Experience
High school diploma or equivalency required, and 5-6 years of related experience in manufacturing management; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Electrical, Mechanical, Pneumatic and Plumbing Certifications preferred.
Knowledge, Skills & Proficiencies
- Ability to utilize various production tools and equipment
- Ability to work well in a team environment as well as independently.
- Ability to prioritize work, meet deadlines and work well under pressure
- Must have a high level of electrical knowledge and mechanical ability.
- Good verbal and written communication skills.
- Requires detail orientation and attention
- Must be able to work extended hours and weekends/holidays as needed to meet deadlines.
Tools & Equipment Used
Hand and powered tools, electric meter, common cleaning equipment and supplies and computer and peripherals.
Physical Requirements & Working Environment
This position works under indoor conditions and exposed to elements including but not limited to, weather, chemicals, odor, weather and environmental conditions. The employee must be able to work in an upright standing position for long periods of time, and must be able to sit, walk, crawl, climb, reach with hands and arms, work in difficult positions and lift up to 30 lbs. The incumbent must be able to detect auditory and/or visual emergency alarms.
