PURPOSE:
The Facilities Maintenance Technician is responsible for building and equipment maintenance and upkeep. Skilled in a variety of
areas including plumbing, carpentry, and electrical systems. Duties include inspecting buildings, maintaining inventory, and scheduling repairs.
Job Responsibilities Percentage
Inspects buildings, equipment, and systems to identify any issues.
Perform basic facility upkeep tasks (painting, carpentry, plumbing, housekeeping and limited electrical tasks such as light bulb changing, etc.) 30%
Performs basic building and groundsrepairs and maintenance on material handling equipment including faulty equipment units and
damaged structures. 20%
Uses power tools to perform job tasks safely and with desired results.
Services basic mechanical devices and functions within the operations.
Ability to operate alternate facility PIT (scissor lift, sit-down fork, floor scrubber, etc.) safely and within expectations of site leadership. 15%
Follows preventative maintenance procedures and assists with the development and implementation of all new procedures. 10%
Performs basic welding, wiring, motor hook ups, conveyor assembly and chain, sprocket, belt and sheave repairs Ability to perform basic
PM and repairs to UPS system, compressors, diverters, motors, photo eyes, and batteries. 10%
Must be able to accurately and legibly complete required paperwork and documentation, schedule and coordinate work orders and repairs.
Must use a PC 5%
Conducting periodic quality checks on equipment and systems to ensure everything is up to standard. 5%
Maintaining the inventory records for equipment and supplies. 5%

JOB REQUIREMENTS:
Education/ Certifications/or Equivalent combination of education training and experience:
- High School Diploma/GED and/or equivalent related experience
- Certificate in HVAC, building maintenance technology, or a relevant field is preferred.
- 2-3 years of on-the-job experience
- Effective problem-solving abilities.
- Physically capable and available to work overtime including weekends, public holidays, and evenings.
- Must be well-organized and have the ability to prioritize tasks.
- Advanced understanding of general maintenance procedures and techniques.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
