Job Description


The Iowa Finance Authority (IFA) is searching for an outstanding, motivated professional to join the Administrative team as the Facility Coordinator.


The Facility Coordinator will provide general assistance to the organization by overseeing facility related needs including the management of the Iowa Economic Development Authority | Iowa Finance Authority (IEDA|IFA) vehicle fleet.


General Duties (summary)


Facility Coordination


  • Serves as liaison to building management company to communicate office space and maintenance needs
  • Handles and responds to concerns and ensures team members have appropriate equipment, facilities, and tools
  • Serves as point of contact for all matters concerning the 1963 Bell Ave facility, which houses the Iowa Insurance Division, Iowa Economic Development Authority and Iowa Finance Authority
  • Assists with vendor installation of new and/or existing work areas
Fleet Management


  • Monitors vehicles for maintenance and performs/schedules maintenance as necessary
  • Tracks and reports on fleet utilization
  • Coordinates all on-road transportation schedules for IEDA|IFA team member use
General Assistance


  • Performs highly complex and sensitive administrative support duties as assigned
  • Acts as primary backup for front desk coverage when primary staff are unavailable
  • Serves as backup for the Iowa Finance Authority Board of Directors

The Facility Coordinator position is a non-merit, non-contract covered position that is classified by the State of Iowa as an Administrative Assistant 1. This position is nonexempt (hourly) per FLSA regulations.

This is a non-merit position with the Iowa Finance Authority (IFA) . Candidates must follow the instructions in the "To Apply" section. Positions in this class are exempt from the screening and referral requirements of the Iowa Department of Administrative Services - Human Resources Enterprise.


Minimum Qualification Requirements


Applicants must meet at least one of the following minimum requirements to qualify for positions in this job classification:


  • A total of four years of education (as described in number one) and/or full-time experience in accounting, secretarial, or office support work collecting, compiling, reporting, examining and/or editing numerical data; coding and qualifying people for benefits, licenses, or other transactions; preparing and keeping budgetary accounts and projections; organizing and implementing office support operations; advising on procedural processes; or other work that provided direct support and exposure to substantive agency programs, where one year of full-time experience is equal to 30 semester hours of education.
  • Graduation from an accredited four-year college or university with a bachelor's degree in any field.
  • Current, continuous experience in the state executive branch that includes experience equal to 12 months of full-time work as a Secretary 2, Clerk Specialist, Public Service Supervisor, Accounting Technician (any level), Purchasing Assistant, or Human Resources Technical Assistant
