Executive Vice-President, New Business – Private Equity Channel

What we’re looking for
We are currently seeking an experienced business leader to join our Business Development team as Executive Vice-President, New Business – Private Equity Channel. In this role, our chosen candidate will be responsible for facilitating discussions with business leaders in a variety of industries and partners at private equity firms, to identify, cultivate and ultimately close consulting engagements on behalf of Carpedia.
The ideal candidate doesn’t just sell our services, they use their own knowledge and experience with the wisdom that they have gleaned from other leaders to be able to provide input, advice, and value to CEOs. They would compliment this with a broad network of other service providers in their network that they can refer to potential clients to further add value.
In addition to the execution of business development activities, the EVP will work with the team to develop short- and long-term marketing strategies and support the generation of marketing material. Attendance at industry events, knowledge of market trends, pursuing of opportunities within industry magazines, the potential of broadening our current focus within the private equity space are all a requirement. The ideal candidate will take what is already a very healthy sales channel for us and build upon it.
It is also expected that the EVP will identify additional business opportunities for Carpedia within their current and / or existing network. In addition to leveraging personal networks and booking meetings for themselves, the role will be supported by a Business Development Associate who will set meetings for key decision makers within the target space.
The ideal candidate has a proven track record of selling professional services, ideally within private equity, has held leadership position(s) in mid-market companies, has existing relationships within the private equity space, has a broad network with other leaders of mid-market companies and is willing to drive the ‘input’ to maximize the ‘output’. It goes without saying that the candidate must have exceptional communication skills, be strong analytically and have a solid understanding of how businesses operate.
- Knowledge of the full sales cycle from prospecting to close;
- Ability to travel extensively across North America;
- Minimum Bachelor’s degree is preferred. MBA or Graduate degree an asset;
- 10+ years of success in selling consulting services or complex B2B sales;
- Excellent written and oral presentation skills;
- Superior MS Office skills (Excel, Word, Powerpoint).
- Ability to prospect and manage C-level executives within large organizations;
