Executive Officer
The Executive Officer (EO) will lead the overall operations of the Gold Coast Builders Association (GCBA) and is responsible for the successful leadership and management of the Association. The EO provides the Board of Directors, according to its strategic direction, with the resources it needs to achieve its Mission and Vision. The EO makes decisions, plans, organizes, directs, and coordinates the Association’s staff, programs and activities to ensure that the Association’s objectives are attained, plans fulfilled, and member needs are met. Strong leadership and organizational abilities are essential for success.
Position Responsibilities:
·Provide day-to-day leadership, management and administration of the Association.
·Plan, assist and oversee all aspects of the Association’s fundraising efforts.
·Oversees and coordinates events through the Committee Chairs.
·Support and coordinate efforts of the volunteer Committee Chairs and members.
·Maintain a professional relationship with local, state and national Associations and other local nonprofits.
·Travel to NAHB meetings, when the budget allows, including the International Builders Show, Association Management Conference, Leadership Training (if in the region), and any other meetings deemed necessary by the Executive Committee.
Position Requirements:
·Experience with an organization of similar size and complexity, supervising staff and working with a Board of Directors.
·Demonstrated success in generating revenue and finding new revenue streams.
·Great teambuilding skills, collaborative, and an active listener.
·Successful experience leading a volunteer organization.
·Willingness to be flexible and adapt to a changing work environment while maintaining effectiveness and efficiency.
·Effective communicator in both writing and public speaking to include advocating at public hearings and other public events.
·A college degree is preferred but not required.
·Strong organizational skills.
·Willingness to work with government officials.
·Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
·This is a full time position that will require flexibility in hours for special events.
