Job Description

Are you a savvy and creative event marketing professional who is inspired to build programs that will better inform, inspire, and engage an executive level audience? If you answered yes, we’d love to meet you.

Oracle’s mission is to help people see data in new ways, discover insights, and unlock endless possibilities. Oracle’s Global Events Team (GET) is responsible for upholding this mission through a variety of customer engagement experiences, including global flagship programs, digital/hybrid events, third party activations, executive events and more. It’s a great time to join our Global Events team, a place where you will not only make a huge impact on a leading marketing organization, but also where your career can flourish.

The Executive Events and Partner Program team is a group of talented and hard-working strategic leaders on the Global Events team focused on delivering engaging programs and customer and partner experiences that inspire and foster connections to help customers reach their highest business potential. We take pride in the quality of our work, the strength of our relationships, and the achievements of our peers.

About the Role

The position includes working with leadership to define a compelling vision, collaborating with internal stakeholders across Oracle to bring our narrative to life with flawless execution for in-person events. Events may include 20-person Executive Level intimate programs to our larger 500+-person Executive Summits co-located with Anchor Events. This role is responsible for leading delivery of these events across the Cloud Platform, Analytics and Security portfolio, aligning each experience to the objectives of our marketing and development partners, and overseeing both event design and execution throughout the event lifecycle. This role requires both event production and broader marketing expertise to successfully collaborate with leaders across audience acquisition and content strategy, product, field and digital marketing and communications, operations and production, Oracle Studios, and others. This position can be based anywhere in the United States or Canada and will require some domestic and international travel (up to 25% of the time).

About You

You are a methodical, highly-organized, forward-looking, inclusive event marketing leader with significant experience working in tech. You are passionate about tech content, and understand the cloud computing industry, including trends, challenges, and opportunities. Ideally, you have 10 years+ of experience in delivering events for major brands, with experience lifting those programs to an executive level audience.

You have outstanding communication skills, executive presence, and evolved emotional intelligence. You’re able to balance a rigorous approach to process development and execution with ever-evolving business requirements. You operate best in a collaborative environment in a large virtual team, driving success through empathy and leadership.

You have great organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills, operating effectively with opposing priorities, amidst ambitious deadlines and personalities. You are an effective presenter, and a great listener, with a gift for balancing business and customer priorities. You have experience working with agency personnel and a familiarity with collaboration and efficiency tools.

Responsibilities

  • Build, execute and refine end-to-end communication strategy, with tailored messaging for executive audiences
  • Manage external vendor resources taking accountability for their performance
  • Provide leadership, alignment, conflict resolution in strategic event program design
  • Develop and own processes to effectively lead from strategy to execution
  • Foster an environment of accountability, collaboration, inclusion, and innovation
  • Be a customer advocate, ensuring their needs and expectations are heard and met
  • Lead product/field marketing, development in crafting customer-centric experiences

Skills & Qualifications

  • Highly developed project management skills with outstanding attention to detail.
  • 8+ years confirmed event marketing expertise within the cloud tech industry.
  • Outstanding written and verbal English communication skills.
  • Willingness to take calculated risks, while driving consensus across lines of business.
  • Ability to present confidently and concisely to executive audiences.
  • Experience leading a distributed team, from the executive suite to entry-level resources.
  • Ability to operate effectively as part of large, complex virtual team.

Does this sound like you? If so, we hope to meet you!
