Job Description
Overview:
Develop, maintain, and expand a comprehensive, corporate-wide enterprise risk management program based on Governance, Risk & Control (GRC) principles. Create and maintain enterprise risk assessments for all departments resulting in Key Risk Indicators (KRI) monitored and reported on a periodic basis. Advance the existing Risk Management program (i.e., all 5 departments) to prepare it and UHM to be a top 25 lender. Advise Senior Leadership on risks within the business. Assist in developing solutions to mitigate risk throughout the company.
Responsibilities:
  • Develop KRI reporting that delivers tangible results that the business units can use to mitigate risk in the respective departments.
  • Ensure alignment, integration, and consistency of risk management across all business channels.
  • Develop, implement, and maintain an Enterprise Risk Management program applying GRC principles to align risk management with business goals while managing risks and meeting all Federal, state and agency laws, rules, and regulations.
  • Develop the existing Risk Management Departments (i.e., Regulatory Compliance, Quality Control, Internal Audit, Government Insuring, and Agency Risk) to be able to support a top 25 lender that would meet CFPB and Agency expectations.
  • Identify opportunities to reduce operational, financial, legal, and regulatory risk.
  • Provide recommendations that simplify processes and provides a world class experience with appropriate risk controls.
  • Initiate enterprise-wide risk assessments, the goal of which is to document all business risks and develop KRI’s.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBI
LITIES
  • Manage the strategic direction of the Risk Management Department which includes: Regulatory Compliance, Quality Control (Pre-funding, Post-closing & Servicing), Internal Audit, Government Insuring, and Agency Risk.
Education & Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s Degree in business related field or equivalent work experience
  • Decisiveness with excellent problem-solving skills
  • Change management
  • Ability to manage multiple projects while adhering to strict deadlines
  • Minimum 10 years in Risk Management leadership position supporting mortgage origination and servicing
  • Proficient with Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook
  • Ability to communicate information clearly and concisely both verbally and in writing
  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to multi-task in a constantly changing environment
