Job Summary:
The Manager, Risk Analytics will be responsible for utilizing, maintaining, and enhancing risk and valuation models for the energy generation and retail supply portfolio of the leading customer-focused integrated energy and services provider.
Essential Duties/Responsibilities:
Specific duties include: (1) evaluating complex transactions to identify market and credit risk impacts to the company; (2) applying strong analytical, quantitative, and IT skills, to utilize, maintain, and enhance market, credit, and operational risk models; (3) performing analytical and quantitative analysis to quantify valuation and risk for individual transactions, as well as on a portfolio level.
Working Conditions:
- Hybrid work schedule, 3 days in office, 2 days remote work
- Open office environment
- Some overtime required as special projects arise.
Minimum Requirements:
- Thorough understanding of structured energy transactions and strong understanding of probability, statistics, time series analysis, and stochastic calculus.
- Excellent communication skills.
- B.S. degree in Mathematics, Econometrics, Statistics, Computer Science, or Engineering.
- 7-10 years of analytical and quantitative experience with a financial or energy trading company.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Strong communication skills.
- Understanding of commodity transaction types and market structures (Forward vs. Spot markets), experience within both the power and fuels sectors.
- Demonstrated ability to understand and communicate complex portfolios and transactions.
- Quantitative analytics experience of using Stochastic Calculus, Monte-Carlo Simulations and Econometrics, Optimization Techniques.
- Experience with derivative pricing (Option, Forwards, Swaps, Weather Derivatives, Tolls, Physical and Virtual Plants, Load Following) and energy risk management (VaR, GMaR, PFE).
- Experience with trading and risk management systems.
- Proficiency in Python, R, Matlab, SAS programming languages.
- Advanced Degree in a quantitative discipline.
Physical Requirements:
- Majority of work performed on a personal computer in a seated position
