Job Summary:
The Energy Performance Analyst will support the Vice President of Operations in closely monitoring and optimizing energy and water consumption, and peak demand across all SPI commercial and residential properties covering New York, Philadelphia, and Los Angeles.
This position will be in-person and work closely with each Property Management Office to identify and implement best practices for efficient building operation
What you’ll do: (Duties/Responsibilities)
- Review of relevant regulation and engagement with regulatory bodies for the development of new standards & practices
- Assist with measurement and verification of savings associated with major capital/operational/tenant projects
- Review and track Property and tenant utility usage, utility-related service agreements, and energy efficiency metrics
- Manage project and local law reporting requirements
- Analyze utility billing, ensure they are accurate, and processed in a timely manner
- Work in close liaison with utility providers, construction, design, academia and government agencies
- Various administration tasks pertaining to projects, leasing requirements, telecommunications agreements, and filing
- Ensure all tenant submeters and utility meters are functioning properly
- Track & collect building performance data for reporting and improvement purposes
- Closely monitor building energy consumption, water consumption, and peak demand and alert management of significant anomalies
- Assist in budgeting and reforecast of utilities across the portfolio
- Review tenant submeter billing & utility quarterly tax statements, prior to release
Who you are:
- Capacity to both lead and work in teams and establish and maintain cross-functional and working relationships.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Must possess an understanding of building systems including, but not limited to, HVAC, Plumbing, Electrical, BMS, Fire & Life Safety and all related systems.
- Strong analytic capabilities.
- Background in building systems design and operation.
- Self-motivation: ability to work independently with an understanding of when to escalate issues.
- Ability to read and interpret drawings, blueprints, & specifications.
- Ability to function well in a high-paced and environment.
- Ability to collaborate with peers, managers and policymakers, and a demonstrated commitment to diversity and inclusion.
Education and Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering related field from an accredited college or university or equivalent work experience.
- Minimum 4 years’ experience in the energy management field.
Note on COVID:
