What This Position is All About:


The Analyst, Energy and Utility supports Saks Fifth Avenue Operations and reports to the Manager, Energy & Utilities. This role will be responsible for analyzing energy markets, assessing energy consumption patterns, and providing strategic recommendations to optimize our organization's energy usage and utility operations as well as supporting the Sustainability/ESG strategy.


  • An ideal candidate will be proficient in data analysis, reporting and presenting.
  • Monitor energy usage and analyze consumption patterns to identify opportunities for resource optimization and cost savings.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather resource-related data and ensure accuracy and completeness. Prepare and present reports, including energy consumption analysis, cost savings, and sustainability metrics, to stakeholders and senior management.
  • Assist in the development and implementation of strategies to reduce utility costs, enhance efficiency, and promote sustainability, sustainability initiatives, including renewable energy projects, energy conservation programs, etc. as well as support the annual ESG reporting for the organization.
  • Responsible for tracking energy prices, market trends, and regulatory changes affecting the energy sector.
  • Keep track of relevant emerging legislation, policies and best practices in the field of Energy, utilities and sustainability and evaluate potential impacts for SFA. Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and report on energy consumption and sustainability metrics as necessary.


As an Analyst, Energy and Utility You Will:


Analysis


  • Collect, organize, and analyze energy consumption data.
  • Detail-oriented with a focus on accuracy and quality of work.
  • Develop and implement strategies to reduce utility costs, enhance efficiency, and promote sustainability.
  • Evaluate utility operations, including water, gas, and electricity, to identify areas for improvement.
  • Prepare related reporting and analysis to support improved efficiencies.


Benchmarking


  • Analyze and compare internal data against industry benchmarks to identify performance gaps and areas for improvement.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to collect and validate data, ensuring accuracy and completeness.
  • Maintain research databases, libraries, and other resources to ensure data integrity and accessibility.


Research


  • Prepare comprehensive reports, presentations, and dashboards summarizing research findings, key insights, and actionable recommendations.
  • Conduct research and stay up-to-date on industry trends, best practices, and emerging technologies in sustainability. Identify innovative approaches and solutions for integrating renewable energy, reducing environmental impact, and promoting sustainable practices within the organization.
  • Conduct research to gather data and information on market trends, competitors, and industry developments.


You Also Have:


  • Ability to work independently, prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines.
  • Familiarity with energy modeling software and energy management systems is a plus.
  • Knowledge of environmental regulations and sustainability practices is a plus.
  • Experience in energy analysis, utility management, building sustainability, etc.
  • Bachelor's degree in Environmental Science, Building Sciences, or a related field.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with keen attention to detail.
  • Proficiency in data analysis tools and techniques, such as Excel and data visualization software.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present complex information in a clear and concise manner.
