Job Summary:
Under the supervision of the Director of Information Technology, the Electronic Health Records (EHR) Specialist will be responsible for navigating the EHR system data set, retrieving information, developing reports, and troubleshooting data issues. The EHR Specialist will have a fine eye for details, experience in healthcare data systems or an EHR, and deep understanding of the popular data analysis tools and databases. The EHR Specialist will survey and measure data in overlapping systems to identify missing and/or inconsistent metadata, and will communicate with internal team members to reconcile metadata and resolve problems. Above all, the EHR Specialist will serve as a lead trainer of EHR concepts and material for all staff.
Essential Job Functions:
- Demonstrated ability in critical thinking, self-initiative, and self-direction.
- Ability to analyze existing tools and databases and provide solution recommendations
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Supporting the data warehouse in identifying and revising reporting requirements
- Attend and participate in staff meetings, in-services, projects, and committees as assigned.
- Developing reports and analysis
- Familiarity with Microsoft products.
- Identifying patterns and trends in data sets along with strategies
- Strong background in IT hardware/software and networking
- Assist with IT hardware/software/network support as needed
- May require use of personal vehicle
- Understanding of addressing and metadata standards
- Ability to multi-task under pressure.
- Reporting EHR solutions and results back to the relevant members of the business
- An analytical mind and inclination for problem-solving

- Experience in methodologies and processes
- Receives EHR related IT Support Help Desk ticket escalations from tier 2
- Adhere to and support the center’s practices, procedures, and policies including assigned break times and attendance.
- Ability to write comprehensive reports
- Generating reports from single or multiple systems
- Accept assigned duties in a cooperative manner; and perform all other related duties as assigned.
- Working alongside teams within the business or the management team to establish business needs
- Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
- Serves as a liaison to create and escalate EHR related tickets or issues from IIH to CareVention
- Ability to translate business requirements into non-technical, lay terms
- Duties include, but are not limited to:
- Provide EHR systems and reports training; interpreting instructions; answering questions.
- Defining new data collection and analysis processes
- Be flexible in schedule of hours worked.
- Collecting and interpreting data information

- Ability to analyze large datasets
- Strong technical report analysis and composition skills.
- Ability to communicate information in a professional and confident manner.
- Demonstrates knowledge of advanced concepts and basic operating principles of data communications and information systems hardware and software.
Working Conditions:
- Requires constant hand grasp and finger dexterity; frequent standing, walking and repetitive leg and arm movements, bending, reaching forward and overhead; squatting and kneeling.
- Ability to access all areas of the center throughout the workday.
- Specific vision abilities required by the job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and the ability to adjust focus. • This job operates in a professional healthcare environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines.

Education & Certification(s):
- Bachelor’s Degree Preferred.
- Is medically cleared for communicable diseases and has all immunizations up-to-date before engaging in direct participant contact.
Required Qualifications & Experience:
- Experience working with an Electronic Health Records (EHR) system, preferred
- Minimum of one (1) year experience within the field of Information Technology, preferably in a healthcare setting.
- Experience in data models and reporting packages
