Medical Records/Him Specialist

Medical Records Specialist is primarily responsible for ensuring accuracy in assemble and completeness related to contents of the health record.
Performance Responsibilities And Standards

• Assist in gathering information in response to requests for records/files timely and appropriately.
• Reviews health records for completeness according to established criteria and informs direct supervisor of deficiencies.
• Consults with appropriate clinical staff, as well as other related departments in gathering information necessary to maintain current, accurate and comprehensive health records.
• Verifies appropriate documentation is present in the health record and participates in internal audits.
• Provides courteous, responsive, respectful and knowledgeable customer service.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
• Maintains complete and accurate health files and completes electronic scanning and filing of documents in a timely manner.

Requirements

• High ethical standards.
• Excellent communication skills.
• RHIA or RHIT Certification.
• Adaptable to change.
• Well-developed time management skills.

Physical Requirements

• Speaking/visual/hearing ability sufficient to comprehend and express written/verbal communication.
• Pushing, pulling, reaching and kneeling frequently.
• Frequent sitting, standing, walking.
• Ability to lift and move objects up to 40lbs.

Hepatitis B Category II for the Hepatitis B Vaccine-Program-Employee who rarely has contact with blood and body fluids
