Job Responsibilities

• Supervises and assists in the performance of maintenance and preventive maintenance of electrical fire alarms, CCTV, electronic security, pa, intercom and high voltage distribution systems, emergency generators and equipment.
• Ensures completion of installation/repairs.
• Requisition’s materials and parts needed.
• Plans electrical work including repairs to high voltage equipment and systems.
• Reads blueprints and wiring diagrams and makes take-offs.
• Makes emergency repairs to electrical system and equipment.
• Performs on-the-job training of inmates.

Must successfully complete eight (8) week SCDC Basic Training upon hire

Minimum And Additional Requirements
State of South Carolina Minimum Requirements:
A high school diploma and experience in construction or repair of secondary electrical systems. relevant experience may be substituted for the required diploma on a year-for-year basis.
SCDC Minimum Requirements: (Or an acceptable equivalency as approved by the Division of State Human Resources).

• A high school diploma.
• Five (5) years of extensive working knowledge of the principles and techniques of electrical systems including high and low voltage and general maintenance.
