Canteen Manager (#019713) Kershaw Correctional Inst, Kershaw (Lancaster) Level 2

Job Responsibilities

• Interviews, hires, and terminates all inmate canteen workers.
• Supervises the daily reporting of sales and receipts to ensure they are accurate.
• Conducts daily, quarterly, and monthly inventories.
• Follows procedures to maintain proper inventory levels and ensures stock rotation.
• Ensures all adjustments are correctly processed.
• Supervision of all canteen personnel; civilian back up and inmates.
• Supervises sales transactions through the canteen point of sale system.
• Standard position hours may vary per institution.
• Is responsible that policy and security procedures are followed to prevent loss of canteen product and equipment.
• Maintains proper requisitioning, receipt, and storage of all canteens produced.

Must successfully complete eight (8) week SCDC Basic Training upon hire

Minimum And Additional Requirements
State of South Carolina Minimum Requirements:
A high school diploma and work experience that is directly related to the area of employment. A Bachelor's degree may be substituted for the related work experience. (Or an acceptable equivalency as approved by the Division of State Human Resources).
SCDC Minimum Requirements

• A high school diploma with two (2) years of retail or grocery experience with a minimum of one (1) year as department manager or higher.
• Requires experience merchandising, inventory, loss prevention, ordering and receiving.
