Must-Haves

• Working knowledge various safety regulations or standards (OSHA, NFPA, ANSI, NEC, etc.)
• Bachelor’s Degree in an Engineering or Science discipline or other program applicable to the health, safety and environmental fields is required
• Minimum of 3 years of experience working in industrial health, safety, and environmental activities

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Provide industrial hygiene support as needed to evaluate employee noise and other health exposures
• Assist with environmental incident investigations, root cause analysis, and the development of corrective actions as needed
• Implement and maintain required OSHA compliance programs/processes.
• Assist in managing all mandatory air, water, and waste compliance assurance-monitoring activities at the facility, including DOT
• Establish and maintain appropriate chemical inventory record systems to satisfy regulatory tracking requirements
• Direct the development and implementation of new environmental programs
• Ensure the alignment of Southwire safety policies and procedures
• Provide training for staff in relation to environmental, health and safety policies, practice, and procedures
• Assist in the development and implementation of new health & safety programs
• Assist in creating processes that identify, evaluate, and control hazards in the workplace
• Provide leadership and support for implementation and sustainability of the BBS (Behavioral Based Safety) process
• Ensure all SCUPP management staff and appropriate operational personnel are aware of current and pending regulatory requirements, permit conditions and other restrictions imposed by federal, state, and local authorities
• Provide and track training to comply with applicable OSHA requirements
• Interface with regulatory agencies as needed
• Champion implementation of EHS Management systems (VPP, ISO, OHSAS)
• Serve as Emergency Response Coordinator for the facility, assisting with the coordination of emergency services and contractors. This requires on call duty 24 hours each day

Requirements:

• Requires minimum of 3 years of experience working in industrial health, safety, and environmental activities
• Ability to work non-traditional hours or shifts
• Professional certification is desired
• Bachelor’s Degree in an Engineering or Science discipline or other program applicable to the health, safety and environmental fields is required
• Must have excellent verbal and written skills along with exceptional interpersonal skills
• Working knowledge various safety regulations or standards (OSHA, NFPA, ANSI, NEC, etc.)
