Job Description

Hugo Hunter Inc, a Carrier headquartered in Charlotte, NC is seeking a motivated individual that can thrive in a demanding and fast paced work environment to join our Compliance team. The ideal candidate should be a self- starter, have excellent organizational skills, as well as the ability to focus on multiple tasks simultaneously. We are looking for a professional and goal-oriented individual to join our team. We hope to obtain an individual with a high level of initiative and has the motivation to grow.

This individual is responsible for developing and implementing policies and procedures to mitigate compliance risks for the company. They will collaborate with the management team and will be responsible for managing company policies, implementing an effective compliance program, and issuing regular internal audits to meet DOT required standards.

Responsibilities will include:

  • Generate reports that document errors and detail a clear resolution plan.
  • Develop a technology strategy to provide effective IT support for the Compliance Groups activities and to ensure the company’s systems promote compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Develop and review company policies.
  • Resolve employee concerns about legal compliance.
  • Regularly audit company procedures, practices, and documents to identify possible weaknesses or risk.
  • Create and manage effective action plans in response to audit discoveries and compliance violations.
  • Implement and manage an effective legal compliance program.
  • Assess company operations to determine compliance risk.
  • Ensure all team members are educated on the latest regulations and processes.
  • Develop quality assurance standards and company processes.
  • Adhere to industry quality and safety standards.
  • Advise the executive team on company compliance with laws and regulations through detailed reports.

Requirements

  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Detailed knowledge of legal requirements and procedures.
  • Logistics and transportation industry experience preferred.
  • Organized with high attention to detail.
  • Proven experience as a collaborative team player.
  • Minimum 3-5 years of proven experience in a DOT/FMCSA compliance role.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
