Job Summary

The aviation director develops and institutes department policies and procedures, ensuring the upmost safety and quality standards are met. The director prepares and is accountable for the Lowe's operating budget to include operating expenses, facilities, supplies, associates, training, and capital expenses (if applicable). The aviation director reports to senior management on aviation department needs, to include equipment needs (aircraft, maintenance or otherwise). The aviation director manages a team of pilots, maintenance professionals and other associates to ensure proper execution of the aviation function. The director establishes and maintains partnerships with Lowe's executives and associates. The aviation director hires and develops a diverse team of qualified professionals to deliver superior avionic transportation services to Lowe's executives and associates.

Key Responsibilities

• Oversees functions which impact Lowe’s aviation operations (e.g. maintenance, crew scheduling, load control, equipment scheduling).
• Establishs and maintains a comprehensive aviation safety program.
• Accountable for all department operations, including strategies around fleet and hanger selection and use.
• Heads the operations of Lowe's aircraft within FAA regulations.
• Coordinates with Global Security and other relevant points of contact to execute the strategy for the safe transportation of Lowe's executives and employees.
• Develops a team including pilots and maintenance crew.
• Maintains a rigorous training program to ensure all staff are properly trained and meet licensing/regulatory requirements.
• Creates, institutes and manages aviation department policies and procedures, including flight, maintenance and basic departmental policies.

Required Experience

• Aviation Training Program
• 5 Years general aviation experience
• Bachelors Degree
• 7 Years experience managing various aspects of flight departments
