Our client is a full-service social marketing, creative, media, and technical disciplines, all grounded in a unique understanding of online culture and social behaviors with clients including Hugo Boss, Chipotle, and BMW

Due to a recent acquisition and a period of significant growth, the agency now has an opening for a Finance Director to join their team to take on ownership for the finance function. This role will work very closely with the CFO to set the strategic direction for Finance across agencies and develop commercial business models.

1. Responsibilities

• Oversee the Accounting and Finance function, continually developing the standard of Accounting expertise (internal controls and guidelines), optimizing cash flow management, and managing company expenditures, including payroll and capital expenditure
• Management of pass through costs: production and media finances
• Facilitate and support business with ongoing revenue monitoring and reporting; providing the CEO with a monthly performance dashboard covering financial and operational KPIs
• Given the growth of the agency, it has become more important to enhance distributed internal controls and procedures to meet the current and future needs and works with HR to proactively ensure that all employees fully understand relevant processes and procedures through regular training and all-employee communications/updates
• Lead the maintenance and structure of systems to ensure data is structured for reporting needs
• Key point of contact for our external auditors, tax advisors, legal advisors, insurance, landlord and other professional services
• Set up and maintain a rolling 12-month budget and quarterly forecasting model to deliver business insights requirements and evaluate reasons for variances
• Regularly communicate with clients and senior team leads in UK and US to ensure clarity and transparency of appropriate financial data
• Partners closely with Human Resources team to ensure appropriate workforce levels, adequate budgets/workforce and facilitate seamless delivery of benefits and payroll

2. People Management

• Management of all Finance staff: maintaining a skilled team by training, fostering positive relationships and striving for accuracy and efficiency; Develop career paths for department members
• This role is part of the Management Team, who work together to ensure a seamless backbone of the running of the agency.

3. Knowledge, Skill and Experience Required

• Agency experience (creative, digital media) is preferred but it is essential to demonstrate an ability to work in a creative environment
• Proficient knowledge in partnership accounting, US GAAP, and reporting knowledge of tax laws (Federal, NY / CA state, K1’s etc.)
• Minimum 7 - 10 years accounting and financial management experience
• Strong Excel and google suite skills are imperative
• Professional accounting qualification (CPA, ACA or ACCA)
