Job Description

Job Title: Director of Engagement, National Women's Hall of Fame

Location: Remote

Position Type: Full-time, some flexibility

Reporting to: Executive Director

The National Women's Hall of Fame is seeking a dynamic and experienced individual to join our team in a newly created position: Director of Engagement. The Director plays a pivotal role in advancing individual relationships and relationship management with Inductees of the National Women's Hall of Fame and their representatives. Your primary responsibility will be to cultivate these long-term relationships and create and implement programming and revenue-generating activities that advance the mission of the National Women’s Hall of Fame.

Responsibilities:


Inductee Relationship Management:

  • Serve as the primary point of contact for Inductees, providing support and guidance in their engagement with the organization
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with all Inductees of the National Women's Hall of Fame, including their families, agents, and representatives
  • Coordinate and facilitate regular communication and interactions between the Hall of Fame and Inductees, ensuring their continued involvement and participation in relevant events and initiatives


Programming and Events:

  • Collaborate with internal and external committees and volunteers to organize events, conferences, and special gatherings that showcase the achievements and contributions of Inductees
  • Work in partnership with the Senior Director of Development to create and implement individual plans for each Inductee that inspires engagement and participation and builds toward a culture of philanthropy
  • Coordinate and oversee the logistics of Inductee-events, including the biennial Induction Ceremony
  • Create and implement innovative programming initiatives that foster meaningful engagement with Inductees and allow for the continued celebration of their life’s work and achievements


Revenue Generation:

  • Identify opportunities for revenue generation through Inductee-focused initiatives, such as workshops, lectures, and exclusive experiences
  • Develop and execute strategies to secure sponsorships, grants, and donations to support Inductee engagement activities
  • Collaborate with the Senior Director of Development to cultivate relationships with potential donors and sponsors interested in supporting the Hall of Fame's Inductee programs


Collaborative Partnership Building:

  • Collaborate with internal and external stakeholder groups to develop partnerships and collaborations with external organizations, institutions, and individuals to enhance Inductee engagement efforts
  • Manage the Inductee selection process for 2025 and beyond, including recruiting, cultivating, and communicating with the National Panel of Judges and the Inductee Selection Committee
  • Identify and pursue opportunities for collaboration with relevant stakeholders, including corporations, foundations, and educational institutions
  • Serve as the primary staff person on the National Conversations and Programs Committee, a Board-led committee that identifies opportunities for events and programs

Qualifications:

  1. Proven experience in relationship management, preferably in a cultural or nonprofit organization.Experience in portfolio/prospect management a plus.
  2. Demonstrated success in creating and implementing programming and revenue-generating activities.
  3. Ability to think creatively, broadly, and strategically combined with a “roll up the sleeves” attitude to get the work done
  4. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to engage and inspire diverse stakeholders, including Inductees, donors, sponsors, and volunteers.
  5. Strong organizational and project management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks, meet deadlines, and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  6. Knowledge of and passion for women's history, gender equity, and the achievements of women.
  7. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and other relevant software applications.
  8. Willingness to travel and work occasional evenings and weekends, as required

Salary and benefits:

Candidates may work anywhere in the United States and must have reliable internet connectivity. While the Hall

strives for a healthy and flexible work environment, most required meetings take place M-F and between 10am and 6pm ET.

The starting range for this position is $70,000-$82,500 depending on experience. The Hall offers a monthly Health

Reimbursement Account that can be used to cover the cost of health care premiums and other approved health-related expenses as determined by the IRS.
