Director Of Construction & Purchasing - Remote | Wfh

We are seeking a talented and experienced Director of Construction & Purchasing to join our dynamic team. As the Director, you will play a crucial role in overseeing all construction field operations and leading our purchasing department. This is a fully remote position, offering you the flexibility to work from anywhere!
What You'll Do
Lead the way: Oversee purchasing, estimating, and contracts management. You'll have the opportunity to update construction estimation spreadsheets/software, ensuring accurate job estimations and minimizing construction costs.
Make it happen: Ensure that all renovation projects and home inspection repair lists are completed efficiently and within budget.
Build the dream team: Manage a team of Field Managers and Purchasing Managers, including recruiting, hiring, training, and providing guidance. Your leadership will help shape a talented and motivated team.
Continuous improvement: Develop systems and processes for our field staff, allowing for enhanced efficiency and productivity.
Source smartly: Continuously seek out new suppliers, contractors, and vendors to reduce costs and improve the quality and turnaround time of our construction projects.
Design for success: Manage the design and product selection of our homes. Collaborate with the team to improve the design and layout, constantly seeking ways to enhance the quality and value of our properties.
Stay on track: Ensure that our property database, systems, and reports are updated daily to track project details and progress.
Negotiate wisely: Utilize your excellent negotiation skills to secure the best pricing from suppliers and trade contractors while maintaining high quality standards.
Collaborate and coordinate: Work closely with Field Managers to schedule trades effectively and accurately.
Manage the details: Review and approve schedules, bid out renovations, and hire, manage, and train General Contractors and subcontractors. Ensuring work is completed on time and within budget is key.
Customer satisfaction: Respond to home inspection items promptly, resolving repair issues to ensure smooth settlements and happy customers.
Stay organized: Keep all paperwork and electronic files in a timely and organized manner, managing documentation efficiently.
Set the standards: Develop and update Purchasing Policies and Procedures Manual and Construction Policies and Procedures Manual, establishing clear guidelines for the team.
Lead by example: Complete 1-3 renovation projects per month as needed, showcasing your expertise and hands-on approach.
Expand horizons: Assist in our exciting expansion into new geographic markets, contributing to our growth and success.
About You
Seasoned professional: You bring 10+ years of experience in residential construction, with at least 5 years of experience in Purchasing.
Leadership experience: You have a minimum of 2 years of experience in a Senior Manager or Director-level role in the home building or home remodeling industry.
Great communicator: Your exceptional communication skills will help you collaborate effectively with diverse teams and stakeholders.
Tech-savvy: Strong computer skills are a must to excel in this role.
Education matters: A Bachelor's Degree or higher is preferred.
