JOB DESCRIPTION:

Responsibilities:

  • Manage the grant application process, including reviewing applications, conducting due diligence on potential grantees, and making recommendations to the board of directors
  • Monitor and report on the foundation's financial performance, including the annual budget and expenditures throughout the year
  • Assist with the planning and execution of events and other fundraising activities, which may include 4-5 business trips each year
  • Prepare reports and presentations for the board of directors and executive team
  • Build and maintain relationships with stakeholders, including donors, community leaders, and other charitable organizations
  • Reviewing applications for Employee Hardship Fund benefits and making award recommendations
  • Ensure compliance with all applicable laws and regulations, including tax reporting and disclosure requirements, and 501(c)3 registrations in all 50 states
  • Develop and implement fundraising strategies to support the foundation's goals and objectives
  • Perform other duties as assigned
  • Work closely with grantees to ensure that funds are used effectively and in accordance with the foundation's guidelines
  • Maintain accurate records of all grant applications and distributions

Qualifications:

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Commitment to the foundation's mission and values
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
  • 1-2 years of experience in a similar role, preferably in a nonprofit or charitable organization
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and other relevant software applications
  • Familiarity with tax laws and regulations governing charitable foundations
  • Knowledge of fundraising and grantmaking best practices
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines simultaneously
  • Bachelor's degree in a related field, such as nonprofit management, business administration, or public policy
