The Director of Campus Life is a leadership position responsible for assisting the Executive Director in overseeing and implementing comprehensive programs and initiatives in various departments that promote a vibrant and inclusive campus community while fostering solid connections between the institution and all of our students. This role is crucial in creating a supportive, engaging environment that promotes student success and leadership connections. The position requires exceptional leadership skills and a deep understanding of all areas of Fraternity and Sorority Life principles and strategies.


This position serves as a Campus Security Authority (CSA) with work hours of Monday -Friday; 8 AM-5 PM or as work requirements indicate. Flexibility to work occasional evenings and weekends and participate in campus events as required. Must be able to work remotely at the request of the University.


Responsibilities


50% Assist the Executive Director in developing and implementing a comprehensive campus life strategic plan setting objectives, timelines, and performance indicators. Provide leadership and partnership with stakeholders to engage students in service, high-impact co-curricular learning experiences, student organizations, fraternity/sorority life, and leadership opportunities to create a sense of belonging and develop career readiness skills. Provide strategic direction and leadership for all Stephenville campus life initiatives while collaborating with outreach campus connections, aligning them with the institution and division’s mission and goals. Provide service to all Greek-Lettered social sorority/fraternity organizations. Enhance the National Panhellenic Historical Council (NPHC), the national governing body for the nine historically African-American sorority and fraternity communities on campus. Assist with the development of training and educational resources for all student organizations. Supervise and guidance for professional and student staff engaged in campus life activities, ensuring effective coordination and execution of campus programs and events. Stay informed about best practices and trends in campus life and student support services, and integrate them into program development and enhancement.


20% Collaborates with internal and external stakeholders to design and implement intentional, high-impact co-curricular experiences that support 60x30TX marketable skills development across all student subpopulations. Collaborate with other department leaders and academic stakeholders to advocate for the importance of campus life in supporting student success and retention. Assist colleagues in curating a pipeline of student organization advisors by building relationships with university stakeholders. Provide support, encouragement and resources in collaboration with outreach campus for Engagement.


10% Supervision of administrative support staff, graduate assistant staff, and undergraduate student employees related to assigned responsibilities.


Coordinate cross-departmental and cross-divisional engagement experiences, including but not limited to Transition Week, WOW Week, Homecoming Week, and Founders Week.


10% Participate in appropriate professional development activities and conferences related to effectively completing professional responsibilities. Assist the Executive Director in developing and managing budgets for campus life initiatives, ensuring optimal utilization of resources.


10% Represents the department and Division of Student Engagement and Success functions when appropriate; assumes responsibility for other special projects and committee work as delegated. Performs additional duties as assigned.


Required Education And Experience


  • Ten years progressive leadership experience to include supervisory and mentorship experience
  • Bachelor’s degree in higher education administration, student affairs, or related disciplines


Knowledge, Skills, And Abilities


  • Knowledge of word processing, spreadsheet, and database applications
  • Strong understanding of student development theories and high-impact practices in student involvement and engagement.
  • Oral and Written communication skills


Preferred Education And Experience


  • Master’s degree in a higher education administration, student affairs, or related disciplines
  • Eight years progressive leadership experience to include supervisory and mentorship experience with a preferred focus on campus life, student affairs, or Greek life.


Preferred Knowledge, Skills, And Abilities


  • Proficiency in utilizing technology and communication platforms for outreach and engagement. Experience in CampusESP, Anthology Engage, Give Pulse, or EAB Navigate preferred.


Other Requirements


  • Flexibility to work occasional evenings and weekends and participate in campus events as required.
