Responsible for the design, implementation, management, and evaluation for one or more Student Life Programs. Serves as a campus agent in promoting programs and coordinates student involvement and support for those opportunities. This position will interact on a consistent basis with: student, parents, faculty members, representatives of community organizations. This position typically will advise and counsel: students and campus representatives. This position may supervise: students, interns and staff.
Job Summary
This position will focus primarily on supporting the development and on-going oversight of the John Lewis Student Leadership Pathways program. The program is set to launch in 2023 and will be a comprehensive, institutionally collaborative array of impactful engagement opportunities that complement one another and support student development. Foundational principles of the social change model and the measurable constructs of Multi-Institutional Study of Leadership (MSL) will guide the programing being designed for all Georgia Tech students.
This position will report to the Associate Dean of Students, Director for the Center for Student Engagement and will be a key player in the launch of the Student Pathways Program. The ideal candidate will have strong, proven interpersonal skills, a collaborative mindset, and the ability to work both independently and with teams. The first year of the position will be focused on program development and launch strategies. A flexible, learning mindset will be essential. The position will interact regularly in a dynamic academic environment with students, faculty, staff, community members, and donors.
Responsibilities
Job Duty 1 -
Provides administrative leadership and support services for one or more unique Student Life Programs. Advises student programs, organizations and groups.
Job Duty 2 -
Oversees all administrative aspects of the program including budget development, office resources, records management, etc. Responsible for project direction, coordination, planning, design, and management.
Job Duty 3 -
Participates in creating assessment tools and evaluates program initiatives.
Job Duty 4 -
Serves as a liaison between staff, faculty, and the community.
Job Duty 5 -
Develops and conducts workshops in area of expertise. Provide advice and support to faculty and staff members in service learning or co-curricular programs.Provide resources and training for students related to safety and liability issues involved in programming.
Job Duty 6 -
Writes and disseminates material to assist students in making informed decisions and/ or explain university policies and procedures.
Job Duty 7 -
Participate in recruitment, selection, and formal leadership training of student leaders.
Job Duty 8 -
Develop marketing and promotion student programs.
Job Duty 9 -
Perform other duties as assigned
Required Qualifications
Educational Requirements
Master's Degree in Higher Education, Student Affairs or related field, or equivalent combination of education and experience
Other Required Qualifications
Overnight travel for project delivery; flexibility in on-site daily service delivery hours degree in Higher Education/Student Affairs or related.
Required Experience
Four to six years of job related experience

Previous experience with student information systems for higher education (ie Banner)

Master's Degree in Higher Education/Student Affairs

- Masters in Education or related field
- In-depth knowledge of program and curriculum development
- Understanding of assessment techniques and ability to work on a data driven environment
- 3-5 years experience in a higher education or training focused environment

SKILLS
This job requires the ability to work independently; excellent communication skills (verbal and written); proven project management experience and organizational skills; ability to multi-task with multiple deadlines; basic knowledge of office related computer applications.
