Description:
Emory University Student Health Services seeks a part-time temporary Advanced Practice Provider (Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner) to provide outpatient primary care to undergraduate, graduate, and professional students. Provides medical care to patients under the direction of a supervising physician. Examines, evaluates, and treats patients with medical conditions, illnesses or injuries. Advises patients on the maintenance of good health.

JOB DESCRIPTION:

ADDITIONAL JOB DETAILS:
  • Qualified applicants need to possess outstanding clinical, technical, and interpersonal skills, and enjoy working in a university setting.
  • Works closely with MDs, RNs, LPNs, MAs, LCSWs, nutritionists, and health educators as part of a care team.
  • Provide care via telehealth upon request.
  • Collect and interpret diagnostic data to implement appropriate patient care plans.
  • Attend daily huddles and designated provider meetings.
  • Perform basic office microscopy, clinical testing, and office procedures.
  • Duties as assigned by the leadership and within the scope of practice.
  • On call and weekend coverage shared on a rotating basis amongst the providers as decided upon hire but participation is preferred.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Current licensure as a Physician Assistant in the state of Georgia.
  • Graduation from a nationally accredited Physician Assistant program.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Flexibility in meeting the needs of the students and the office.
  • At least one-year post graduation experience.
  • Superior communication and interpersonal skills especially under stressful situations experienced by young adults and their families; ability to work collaboratively with colleagues and departments in a complex and vibrant university and academic healthcare setting; and competency in the use of electronic health records.
NOTE: Position tasks are required to be performed in-person at an Emory University location; working remote is not an option. Emory reserves the right to change this status with notice to employee.
