Description:
JOB DESCRIPTION:
  • Oversees the student-athlete uniform laundry and loop system.
  • Responsible for ensuring that their involvement with Athletic & Recreation Department activities maintains the integrity of the University's reputation and does not negatively impact the relationship between the University and its faculty, staff, students and alumni.
  • Performs periodic checks on machines to maintain good working order.
  • Communicates and works closely with head coaches, assistant coaches, and events staff regarding schedules, uniform care, and team needs.
  • Prepares equipment and clothing for travel and home games.
  • Facilities & Events:
    • In coordination with the Director of Events & Marketing, supervises all aspects of game day management for select home athletic contests.
    • Oversees physical setup and breakdown for all intercollegiate contests.
    • Assists with the preparation of athletic fields for events including lining and striping.
    • Communicates directly with visiting teams and officials on game day operations and university protocols.
    • Abides by all NCAA, conference and institutional eligibility regulations and NCAA Principles of Ethical Conduct.
    • Collaborates with the Event Management personnel and the Athletic Communications & Marketing team on the development of game management policies and procedures, equipment organization, staff training, and contest operations.
    • Identifies and communicates facilities issues to the Associate Director of Athletic Facilities.
    • Assists with coordination of summer camps, clinics, and internal/external rentals.
  • Abides by all NCAA, conference and institutional eligibility regulations and NCAA Principles of Ethical Conduct.
  • Performs additional duties as assigned.
  • Program Administration:
    • Reporting to the Assistant Director of Facilities & Events, serves as the athletics equipment manager and primary event manager for select home athletic contests.
    • Supervises all equipment services for Athletics and Recreation including the receiving, cleaning, repair, maintenance, and inventory of all intercollegiate and recreation equipment.
    • Maintains accurate inventory of all varsity and recreation equipment. Oversees the issuance, collection, and storage of all equipment.
    • Prepares equipment and clothing for travel and home games.
    • Oversees the student-athlete uniform laundry and loop system.

    • Purchases athletic and recreation equipment for varsity athletics and recreation general use.
  • Maintains accurate inventory of all varsity and recreation equipment. Oversees the issuance, collection, and storage of all equipment.
  • This is a full-time, twelve-month, exempt professional staff position with the Department of Athletics & Recreation that reports to the Assistant Director for Facilities & Events.
  • Supervises all equipment services for Athletics and Recreation including the receiving, cleaning, repair, maintenance, and inventory of all intercollegiate and recreation equipment.
  • Assists with the preparation of athletic fields for events including lining and striping.
  • Serves in an on-call function to support operations at the facilities.
  • The primary function of the Coordinator of Athletic Equipment and Event Operations is to collaborate with the Assistant Director of Facilities and Events and all Athletics and Recreation personnel in leading facility operations for the Woodruff PE Center (WPEC).
  • Maintains washers and dryers and orders chemicals as needed including sport specific chemicals.
  • Assists with coordination of summer camps, clinics, and internal/external rentals.
  • Identifies and communicates facilities issues to the Associate Director of Athletic Facilities.
  • In coordination with the Director of Events & Marketing, supervises all aspects of game day management for select home athletic contests.
  • Presents an atmosphere of out-of-classroom learning for student employees and participants.
  • Oversees physical setup and breakdown for all intercollegiate contests.
  • Student Staffing:
    • Assists with the supervision and training of student staff.
    • Presents an atmosphere of out-of-classroom learning for student employees and participants.
    • Focuses on the development of student leadership, customer service, decision making, and communication.
  • Purchases athletic and recreation equipment for varsity athletics and recreation general use.
  • Additionally, this position must comply with university policies and procedures, NCAA, and conference rules and regulations.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
  • A bachelor's degree in sport management, physical education, recreation/leisure administration, higher education, or related field, and one year of related experience in varsity athletics equipment room and/or athletic event experience, OR an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
