Job Description

Posting for Director of Technology at Faith Academy of Marble Falls

Deadline: June 1, 2023

Position/Type: Full time

Qualifications:

  • A bachelor's or master's degree is preferred; Previous instructional experience is also preferred along with a willingness to obtain a Master’s Degree in Educational Technology or equivalent

Vision and Leadership:

  • Adapt available technologies to new uses and enhances the education process by implementing emerging technologies.
  • Willingness to take ownership of the Faith Academy of Marble Falls vision for Instructional and Operational technology
  • Understand the big picture of school organization, business functions, curriculum, and the issues of greatest importance to teaching and learning.
  • Work closely with all stakeholders to establish a vision for how technology will support FAMF Goals and Objectives.

Essential functions include but are not limited to:

  • Oversee FAMF’s technology infrastructure including servers, switches, printers, phone system, email, website,

web filtering, WiFi, AV, security systems, and ISP

  • Maintain professional contacts with other schools, associations, organizations, and vendors concerning
  • Supervise contract support providers and provide school helpdesk services
  • Manage and integrate the school's physical security, cameras, and physical access systems

technology and equipment

  • Work with administrators and faculty to assess needs and expenditures
  • Purchase budgeted technology hardware and software
  • For complex issues, assign work to the school’s contracted IT support company
  • Directly support the school’s information management and learning management systems
  • Develop, seek approval for, and manage the school’s technology budget

Academic Technology Responsibilities:

  • Provide leadership and guidance for educators, staff, administrators, and students as it relates to technology
  • Ensure faculty, staff, and students adhere to the guidelines set by school’s AUP
  • Help set up coding, robotics, and other technology based classes
  • Assist and develop new ways to integrate technology into the school’s curriculum
  • Assist faculty members to develop and implement strategies to enhance and enrich their teaching through the use of current and emerging forms of technology
  • Adapt available technologies to new uses and enhance the education process by implementing emerging technologies
  • Work with the Leadership to evaluate curriculum in the context of technology education

Fundamental skills include but are not limited to:

  • Work well with students, educators, and staff members
  • Broad and deep understanding of the role of technology in a school setting
  • Possess extensive experience with various systems including Windows, Windows Server, mobile technologies, networked systems, and telecommunications
  • Possess keen administrative abilities with strong skills in organization and management of resources
  • Possess strong communication and leadership skills
  • Assess software and hardware and make full use of these resources

  • Handle conflict by using Biblical principles (Matthew 5 and Matthew 18)
  • Display the highest ethical and professional behavior and standards when working with student, parents, and school personnel
  • Enforce the school's Student Code of Conduct
  • Establish a professional rapport with students and with staff that has their respect
  • Do not engage in or participate in gossip
  • Possess a strong Christian character that is above reproach
  • Immediately notify the Head of School, appropriate personnel and agencies when there is evidence of substance abuse, child abuse, child neglect, severe medical or social conditions, potential suicide or students appearing to be under the influence of alcohol or controlled substances
  • Support Faith Academy's Seven Pillars
  • Able to sign off on Faith Academy's Statement of Faith
