Job Details:

Reporting to the VP F&A of Tyson Fresh Meats, the Director of Finance - FP&A (Pork) is responsible for partnering with the Fresh Meats Pork organization (c. $6.5B in revenue) in its strategic and operational planning, and margin management activities.

This senior management role will be responsible for strategic planning and forecasting for the Pork segment, while collaborating with the Commercial Finance and Product Optimization teams to maximize segment profitability. This position partners with functional leaders across the business, as well as other departments within Finance, to drive financial and business insights for executive decision making. This person will also connect the company's strategic initiatives to the financial plan. The successful candidate will help develop a high-performing team able to meet the future needs of the organization.

Primary Responsibilities

• Analyze business performance with the ability to identify issues, drive to the root cause(s) and develop the appropriate corrective actions
• Build a world class finance team capable of growing the business profitably and delivering financial support
• Ensure that the highest controllership standards are maintained including those related to account reconciliation, stewardship of assets and integrity of financial transactions
• Lead the estimating process for the Pork business, coordinating with the Commercial Finance and Primal Optimization teams to support tactical decision making to drive gross margin in the business
• Oversee Financial Planning and Analysis, develop and manage planning cycles and long-range plan and budget
• Support ad hoc strategic initiatives across the company related to investments, cost optimization, innovation and mergers and acquisitions.
• Partner with business leaders and SVP Pork to develop financial and non-financial targets for the Pork segment, and drive accountability and performance
• Partner with corporate shared service functions to lead business transformation initiatives including roll-out of new systems and processes

Experience and Competencies

• 10 plus years finance managerial experience with success building effective teams and leading through teams
• Excellent organizational skills and ability to function in a fast paced, highly visible, and fast-changing environment
• Experience leading people and processes through a time of significant organizational change
• Demonstrated success as a people leader with a strong ability to measure, develop and coach talent
• The ability to identify and champion initiatives that drive operating performance through the organization, collaborating with cross-functional teams to deliver results
• Demonstrated ability to work effectively in a fast-paced matrixed organization / deadline driven environment
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to interact with all levels of the organization
• Previous meat packing experience a plus
• Excellent problem solving, critical thinking and decision-making skills, with the ability to think strategically with supporting analytical skills
• Travel: limited travel.

Preferred Qualifications

• MBA, CPA or CMA a plus but not required.
• Bachelor's Degree in Finance or Accounting

Preferred System and Application Experience:

• Expertise with Microsoft Office suite.
• SAP, Anaplan, Power BI
